These are new pictures of me at 228. Please feel free to leave any comments, questions, critiques, suggestions etc.

Right now I am on a four day split and I've gained quite a bit of mass compared to last time I took pictures. I have another picture thread up, but it is from awhile ago. Anyways, thanks in advance.

Any estimates on bodyfat percentage? I was thinking about 16%

Looking pretty thick all around, especially your back & legs. I think you'll look really solid once you finish this cut. Right now you're kind of in the place where you're not so fat that your stomach is "filled out" but you're not so lean that you don't have love handles. It'll help a lot to drop ~10 pounds of fat.

looking big, a cut will do you well

we have a similar build and bodyfat distribution

i was around 230 a couple of years ago

i cut down to about 189 but still had some love handles

i'm 197 now and think it may take 180 on my next cut before they're fully gone

I say throw the TV out the window, grab one of your rifles, jump out the window and go on a 5 day hike - only eating the food that you kill... sleeping in your own handmade shelter... and drinking fresh water from a mountain creek. Dude, you will have lost 10 lbs easy and know you can survive any time if you are lost in Wisconsin.

LOL

Looking great dude.. keep up the heavy lifting.. GL on the cut..

I plan on dropping no more than ten pounds. I want to stay at around 220 lbs and I think if I dropped ten pounds I would be around 12% bodyfat. Correct me if I am wrong. I think I would though, with the routine I have I really focus on compounds and lots of them. I should be able to keep the muscle I have.

Damn your a big dude...Back looks very solid and arms and legs are huge. Only thing that I think lacks is chest, traps and maybe shoulders (can't really tell).

sharkall2003

Measurements are as follows: Arms: 17.75", forearms: 14.5", wrists 8", quads 28.5", calves: 16", chest: 46.5"

Looking good man. Cut should leave you huge if you get low enough.

Only criticism is that your chest is still lagging behind pretty much everything else. Legs, shoulders, arms, and back look solid though. Lat spread should look much better once you lose some lower (back) bodyfat.

Very impressive bro. The bulky look suits you.

And I like your signature: "bulking till my clothes don't fit." I should put my old saying on my profile: "I won't quit till no shirt will fit."

Nice ring to it, eh?

Yeah.

I think our family has okay genetics. My brother is 13 and a few weeks ago when we were downstairs I had him try and deadlift 185 lbs. He's 150 lbs so I figured it would be hard as hell. Turns out the little **** could deadlift it 5 times and he said it was easy. He didn't take any breaths, he didn't do anything. He just did it like it was nothing. I'm trying to get him started, but he's not all into lifting.

Chest is one of the hardest things to develop at our age. I also have problems with mine and it can be quite stubborn in the growth department. I forget the reasoning for this....built may know more.

Yeah, I have my form down on my bench and lately it's been going through the roof. I hope that it wills tart growing soon. I don't think it's that terribly small. I have a 47" chest, it's just my waist is so damn huge. Like 39".

our legs are the same size haha.

Right around the belly button. And if you go around the hip bones it's the same thing. I have a thick ass abdomen. When I came on this site at 185 lbs my waist was a 34" I think. So My waist just gets really beefy. No matter how much I diet. I can fit in size 36 pants though. So I don't know what the hell is up with that.

sharkall2003
01-31-2007, 02:23 PM
Yeah, I guess I just was stuck with a thick midsection. I can't do much about it. I want to lose a few inches on my waist (3 or four) and lose nothing anywhere else. I will be working my balls off to keep the gains.

Thanks, man. I really hope I'll be looking good. I have a long way's to go, but I have 4 months or so do drop 8 pounds. I'm in no rush. Mostly just going to recondition. High squat numbers, and just going to do tons of compounds. I want to get lower in the bodyfat and lose NO muscle.

My doctor, who treated athletes and bodybuilders, told me I had a perpetual gut, just the way I'm built. Even if I'm cut down to nothing, I'll still have some kind of paunch. Oh well. I'm not planning on competing, so the beefy muscle look is just what I'll have to settle for.

Twist my arm...

Damn dude, you look awesome. Nice and thick.

If I were you I wouldn't say "I'm only dropping 10 lbs." On a cut you'll drop a lot of water and food weight and put it right back on once you start bulking again. Go by the mirror, you'll be much happier.

Your love handle area looks like it is due in part mostly to having large oblique muscles. I'm like that too. It sucks, but it's probably mostly muscle there underneath a small layer.

sharkall2003
01-31-2007, 09:01 PM
Hey, thanks for the compliments guys. I am really thick in the obliques. There is not a lot to pinch, and i'm not giving myself credit. I do have fat there and it's pretty obvious, but I can't drop my waist any lower than a 36 naval no matter how hard I diet or what my bodyfat percentage is. I just can't do it.

A cut is going to really show off your strong points.

I"m going to do some ab and oblique work today. I will be having a pretty strict diet, which I can post for you if you would like to make and suggestions. It's a pretty cheap diet (tuna, chicken, whey), because I have about zero money, so if you would like to give me some suggestions all is welcome. Thanks a lot.

Didn't you say you thought you were already large in the obliques? Do you want them bigger for when you lean out more, hence working them directly?

Well, I never work them, might as well start now. I think with a good diet I can start shredding some of the fat.

Thanks, my arms are bigger than the rest of my body for some reason. I'm not sure why. I just know that they grow a lot and I don't train them all that often.

Prob due to the fact that your bench numbers are more impressive in comparison to your DL/SQ numbers? Were you a former bench/curl guy?

Nope. I had 16" arms to start with. I just gained a few inches on them once I started lifting. My bench was always higher to start with. But my deadlift is in the 300 for reps, so I think I am doing well.

I would definitly start the cut if I were you. If you let your bodyfat get out of hand when you do cut down your going to feel small and its going to take a long time. I'd start working on that waistline you have some definite fat storeage along your stomach and sides. Arms look large.

Yeah. I started at 185 lbs. I was at an 17.5" arm when I weighed 196 and I never worked them. Now they're 17.75 and I still don't work them. Actually, my chest grew a lot more than my arms, and so did my legs.

Looking large, good work Shark!

I would say you're definitely higher than 16% and probably higher than 18, but I suck at those guesstimates, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Either way, though, if I were you I'd be looking to drop 20-30lbs at least. Losing 10lbs (remember, most of it will likely be water and glycogen) probably won't make too much of a noticeable difference.

I was at 238. I dropped my initial ten pounds before I posted. I didn't want to be tricked into thinking I would drop weight really fast. I want to lose 12 solid pounds of fat.

Hell yeah. I'd be badass at 12% lol. I think I will be at about 13% this time around at 220 if I do my diet right. I'll probably diet pretty far down though. I like having a flat stomach and little to no love handles.
