I want to get into sports medicine, but I'm SO clueless on what i want to DO in the field , possible athletic physical therapist they make a decent amount of money. I'm not sure what to major in either. Kinesiology was an idea however you can only get like 3 jobs with that major PE teacher, Trainer or a therapist In order to become a PT you would need med school which is fine.. but you can't really do anything else with that major.. What majors should i maybe look into? I was thinking nutritionist as well. but they get paid ****. I was even thinking of maybe becoming a sports physicians. I think i would need to major in Health Science if i wanted to do that.. Any one here work in the sports med field?? help a student out :bang:

I'm a freshman and thats exactly what I want to do. My dream is to be a Sports Doctor for a major university/sports team. I plan on either going to Med school and becoming and orthopedist or going to physical therapy school. I'm interested in what others have to say too!

I think that if you're considering becoming a sports doctor (MD), the best thing you can do now is do well in your classes. Make sure you take all of your science prerequisites, etc. The last thing you want to happen is to decide junior year that you want to go to medical school and not have the grades to apply. Your major doesn't matter as long as you get the prereqs done.

What's a PT?

no there isnt, most colleges have a degree in physical therapy, and most people with a major in kinesiology can GET a job as a PT
