I'm trying to thicken up my protein shakes to increase satiety, but i'm on a modified keto diet so my shakes are just the whey + water at the moment.

Are there any good ideas for thickening agents to put in my shake (like gelatin, corn starch, etc..) that a) has very few carbs and b) has been tested out?

In case you didn't figure it out, this is to increase satiety and stave off hunger just that much more.

Umm... hmmm. How about psyllium husk? Or perhaps make it with gelatin and put it in the fridge for a while before you knock it back?

Also, try blending some dry curd cottage cheese and a little extra splenda into the whey, for the casein. Or use a shake that has casein in it already, like Nitrean - you might find it more satisfying.

i dont know what psylium husks are but use sugar free pudding mix thickens em up and even makes em taste better

i really like using the cheesecake flavor

Try a different brand of protein. Some just mix thicker than others, and are more filling.

Ice would make it thicker, but I don't know if it would be any more satiating...

Get some 100% Casein protein. You could check out ON's or True protein for a mix of casein's or the Nitren here at At large is a great mix that you would like...

Casein curdles in your stomach and digests much slower than Whey. I mix the two for a meal replacement with a couple of fish oil caps.

duuude sf pudding mix sounds greaaaat!

No offense Built, but psyllium husks just seem too inaccessible for me. I'm gonna go get some sf pudding mix tonight.
