You'll never go back. At work I have to use a dialup connection. It's slow crucifixion.

Yeah, there was so many things I wanted to download when I didn't have it. Can't think of anything now.
**Go figure**

LOL
That's like me wanting a beer when I'm on call. When I'm off call, I could care less.
Nothing like trying to download a 20MB or 60MB file at dial-up speeds and having your connection time out because you didn't refresh any browser windows often enough.

I have a mouse that plugs into the USB port on my computer. My modem also can plug into the other USB port. I tried this, but it would freeze my mouse within minutes when I was using the internet. Any ideas?

I've seen that happen with serial devices with IRQ conflicts- like a mouse and modem sharing an IRQ. I thought the USB architecture eliminated all that noise.

*** Hahaha.
Do you have an ethernet card? If so see if you can use that instead of USB.

Ya I have one. That's what I'm using now. Just didn't know why I couldn't use the USB port as well...

Yeah, Modems and Mice used to freeze on the com ports.
Com 1 and Com 3 would share resoruces, as would 2 and 4...
I also thought this would be eliminated with USB.. maybe it's just a fluke. Shutdown the machine and then plug in the devices and try it that way.
If not, try and plug the modem in while the machine is running and let it set up itself.. and see what happens.

I did all that. My modem is working fine now, I have it running through my Ethernet card. I was just curious if anyone had had the same problems with using the USB port...
