Nothing really changed here. Just doing pec-deck for a burner set at the end. We're changing shoulder day up though.

It's time for the team to deload after months of heavy lifting. Going to focus solely on squats and ab work next week due to all my injuries in my upper body. I'd rather do that than just take a week off when I feel able to lift heavy with my legs.

If your going from the clean position, you should have the barbell in the position of where we have military presses at before you extend.....just press it up like a standing military press after you clean it.

Dead Press
BB Standing Curl
Close-Grip Bench
Chin-ups

Thanks, it's my favorite lift. Clean and Press is my 2nd now even though I just started them. I might start doing snatches instead of those lateral raises. Bodybuilder exercises just aren't appealing to me anymore.

After grinding out 505 I knew I had to go for higher reps. 405 flew up on the 1st rep but I got tired at the 4th. My strength endurance needs lots of work to catch up to my max strength. BB Row was too awkward for me to stick with it so I'm going to replace those with the seated t-bar row. No weight on pullups due to the weight I've gained and being so burned out.

solid pressing man. ur comment about rings brings up a question. ive gotten in the habit of benching/rack pressing with my index finger like an inch outside the rings on the bar. people tell me that my grip is too wide but it feels comfortable for me. when i go narrower its a lot harder for me to put up the weight. should i suck it up and bench narrow cuz "its the right way" or just do my own thing? what do you do?

I've read that you should train all different styles of grip on the bar from powerlifters. How you would incorporate that in the same workout or different ones...I don't know. The farther you go out and arch your back the less your ROM will be. But if it's painful, then don't do it.

physical training test. I'm in the national guard so I do them about every 1-3 months. 2 minutes of pushups, 2 minutes of situps, and a 2 mile run. Funny thing is, I don't do any pushups or situps and do nothing but lift heavy and I still max on those parts...the run...well I hate cardio anyway.

There are some really strong guys out there for their weight. Here's a link to a big powerlifting federation for one of their raw competitions recently.

Raw World Cup 2007 (http://hometown.aol.com/_ht_a/wnpf/07rawworlds.htm)

In the 242lb class the best is 650lbs for deadlift. The next highest is 512lbs. Right now my theoretical total is 1235. I've never competed in a meet before and I've got the feeling that it's completely different to prepare for.

Just did sumo deadlift for the first time in over two years. Once I got it off the ground I felt that the rep was going to be locked out with no problems. The bar felt much closer to my body than conventional stance and I kept scraping the inside of my thighs at the top. I don't know if I do less weight on it than conventional because I never do it, or because of my body leverage.

I hit the spot where you rack with the 345 and lost all my momentum. It was going up with ease too. The 2nd attempt I was too burned out. On floor presses we used some makeshift rack because someone was in the only power rack bull*****ting with lightweight. My grip was different and I was never ready for the lift-off. It should have been a really good day but a lot of things went wrong. On the positive side, I went up drastically in decline.

I don't plan on maxing on anything anymore on arm day. I think the lowest I'll plan to go is 5 reps from now on...especially with all the supersets.

Didn't even hit old PR on deadlift. My left quad and left glute felt extremely tight when I got to t-bar row. I stretched it out when I got home and it seems okay now but I'll see what happens when I squat. Other than that, everything else improved so it's still a good workout.

thanks. we might just retire arm day and do an exercise for both at the end of another work day. Right now I could care less about the size of my arms. I just don't want a weak link in the chain for the compounds.

Yeah, it's just a minor setback. It's just mentally frustrating when I know there are other exercises to do before I can leave the gym. My big lifts usually set the tone for the rest of my sets.

Slightly wider than shoulder width with somewhat low-bar style with toes pointed a little more than 45 degrees. My conventional deadlift is a very close stance so my arms can stay close to my body.

I had a fever on wednesday at 102.8 when it felt like it broke. I've been recovering and this was the first workout back. My strength still isn't 100% so I went lighter. I might stick with higher reps for awhile anyway. It's about time I switched up something.

I let myself get caught up in the numbers. I should have stuck with the higher reps like I planned. I'm still feeling physically drained today. I was only able to eat one meal because of extreme stomach pains. I've only got 52 weeks a year to get bigger and I just lost one.
