Just went out and bought a box from costco, i was actually looking for plain creatine but I found the bars and it looked really interesting. Each one has 5g of creatine plus vits&mins&protein, I was curious if anyone here had any experience or preference when it comes to taking creatine. Also the instructions say to take them up to 2 hours before a workout, and to take 2 a day. That would be 10g of creatine/ workout day... and should I have one 2 hours before or just before the workout?

Sounds like a waste of money when you can get a 200+ day supply of the powder for about 25 bucks or so.

You only need 5 grams a day, not 10 grams.

And I'm sure you can make something better at home pre-workout than eating a creatine bar.

What is your diet like? What is your training routine like? What are your goals?

Up until recently I was cutting on my diet, but keeping a bulking muscle rep/set(5x5s). My diet is very high protein, low carb, low fact, my current weight is 142lbs. Age:18. Coming from family of hunters/fisherman we have 3 freezers full of lean game meat and plenty of salmon, my diet consists mainly of those and soy alternatives. Soy milk, soy cheese, tofu etc... and fruits and veggies. Workout days I have 4 whey shakes, 3 non-workout. I will also usually do 3 10km runs a week. Ab exercises either in the morning or at night depending on when I get time.

My lifting stats are:
deads: 195lb (clean 5x5)
bench: 165lb ("")
squats: 175lb ("")

I'm pretty lean, I want to stay lean but increase the definition of my muscles. aka lean bulk.

Should I be eating high fat?

You should be eating a considerable amount of fat because it is required for the normal functioning of your body. You should be eating at least .5 grams of fat per pound of LBM, with the bulk of this being healthy fats (fish oil, nuts, olive oil, avocados, etc...)

Fat does not make you fat...just so you know.

My buddy started eating these about a month ago and he says hes been taking in 10g of creatine a day (2 bars). The only problem is these bars don't tell how much protein is in them, which is a little sketchy. I haven't talked to him much since so I can't comment on whether or not the bars are just as effective as powder.

You only need 5 grams a day. Any more is a waste. I don't know how they prepare or cook the bars, but I think sticking with the powder would be a better and more cost effective idea.
