I just started tracking everything I eat on fitday and I had a quick question. So far all the foods they have listed seem pretty accurate, but my question is about the calories burned section. I'm a big guy (280lbs) and it is saying that having a seat job with some movement I will burn over 4000 calories a day. Does this seem right? It just seems a little high to me. Thanks in advance to anyone that can shed some light on this for me.

Are you eating more than 4000 calories a day to maintain your weight of 280?
If yes, then it's accurate. If no then it's not (and my bet is on not).

No I eat about 1700-2000 cals a day and I have been losing weight, the reason I wanted to know if it was accurate is to see if it is possible to hit certain goals that I have set for myself. thanks for the info though!

The calorie burned thing should be ignored. Just use it to track food.

Some of their foods are not accurate, but that's irrelevant because you can enter in as many custom foods as you want. Almost everything I put into FitDay I had to enter in myself. What's more important about FitDay is that it is CONSISTENT...and consistency is very important if you want to achieve goals.
