SO there's this girl I fancy and I thought I was getting a mutual vibe back, and I was getting hyped to get my body in tone for an outing to the beach that's supposed to be taking place next month some time with a bunch of people we know. While I'm nowhere near as big as many guys here I feel confident enough to say I'd be the buffest guy of the group; after some months of unspirited and infrequent working out (following a couple of years of hard work) I'm pushing more weight and in better shape then ever, and I've finally got my diet in check to lose the half kilo or so of fat in the next month that will leave me with at least a 4-pack, and I was hoping that this event at the beach would be my cherry on the cake or something. Well, today my resources have lead me to believe with about 99% confidence that she has a boyfriend.

I obviously haven't made all this effort purely for her (although it might've been, if you know what I mean) but now my motivation to do anything more is a vanishing speck on the horizon.
I'll still be the buffest guy of the group, but I for one won't care.

Actually I'll probably ditch the whole thing.

Now where's my chocolate and beer... :alcoholic

Chocolate and beer together tastes nasty.

Wow. That's pretty weak to give up just because of some random chick. Why not look at it as an opportunity to impress some other women who might be there, and try to look your best?

What a waste to do it in the first place.

If you didn't want it for YOU, which I think its obvious you don't, then you'd have given it up anyhow as soon as little miss pink panties was by your side.

Personally when I'm done cutting and sit at about 230 pounds at 10-13% and am looking jacked to the teeth I'll be happy walking up and down the beach acting like all the other guys you see except I'll actually be big and not just act like it.

I damn near want to quote that, Irl. You're going to be like me! Nah, I'm just playing man.

If impressing some chick is your primary motivation for working out then you should stay at home with a box of Krispy Kremes and stop taking up valuable gym space from people who are doing it for themselves.

Forgive the bluntness, but stuff like this really annoys me.

Yeah. If you don't look in the mirror everyday and feel better about yourself and what you're accomplishing, then you probably shouldn't be lifting. And if you decide you want to lift do it for the right reasons.

This has to be the saddest excuse of a thread ever written at WBB...

And we've had some pretty bad threads in the past.

your pretty insecure. You did all that working out to look better for her? your not comfortable with yourself.

You should workout because you enjoy it. Not because you want to be:
the buffest guy of the group. Might as well go buy a muscle car and do what ever else buffers your ego. I dunno try showing off too.

This will add nothing to the thread, but since this type of thread is way to common around here...

What are you 14? move on... you weren't even dating her, and if you stop working out because of her, you weren't doing it for the right reasons to begin with...

This has to be fake! But if not, find another reason like your health to keep working out.

This is why Buddhists study and meditate on a concept called impermanence. It helps so much in these circumstances. I recommend it to everyone. There is so much to gain from a still mind developed with meditation. After some practise, happiness is always within reach.

WHat does her boyfriend have to do with you?

Before you go any further, who is the one who made the thread titled "Girl's flushed my motivation down the sewer." Wow, is that that saddest thing I have ever heard. You should probably get your head out of your ass. It seems like there have been quite a few members lately with their girl problems and they happen to be the same damn problems. Even though this one is lifting related, everything deals with women and blah blah blah. Sorry we're not your support group here to help you. Let's see your pictures and stats. I guarantee you you're not all that "buff". Go find somewhere else to bitch instead of clogging up the good community we have here that actually wants to lift weights.

Whereas I thought she'd found the OP's porn stash and clicked because I was curious how she flushed it down the toilet without plugging it.
