it says to take two in the morning and two mid-day.. but i'm just starting out so would 2 a day be good?

Ya, until your body gets used to it.

1 OR 2 in the morning and afternoon if you are using it as a way to burn more calories.
2 a half hour or so before a workout if you are using it as a energy booster.
