View Full Version : Just starting to Lift, your thoughts

Well I just started to hit the weights hard this week. I'm not sure if i need to bulk or cut but i know that I want more definition and get close to a 6 pack. Tell me what you guys think of these pics. Currently I'm working out 3 times a week and do a mix of free weights and machines, since i workout at my school the options are limited to me but whatever isn't free weight I will do as a machine. I have no clue as to what my Bf% is so if you want to guess gimme your best numbers. I have also recently purchased some creatine 500 and nitrean from ATL and so far so good only been on it for 4 days and I gained about 5lbs, not sure if its all the water I'm drinking or if its muscle ;) . I'm pretty new to this place so let me know what you all my bod.

Hey man. I would start eating around maintenance or slightly above. Eat clean, lift heavy. You will look much better once you start packing on some LBM. I wouldnt worry about cutting till you put on some solid muscle.

i would agree. you have a pretty good base to work with. id vote for you to bulk and slowly put on some weight. shoot for a pound a week if you can.

Another vote for a very gradual bulk.

Thanks for the advise! So I guess a bulking it is. I'm really going to start taking in more protein as unholy made me realize how little I was actually getting on a daily basis. Since I want to bulk should I just workout 3 times a week still or should i go more? Can anyone give me a guesstimate on my BF%?

I would say bodyfat is in the 15-16% area. Even when bulking you dont want to over train. I would continue hitting the gym 3 times a week and just making sure your workouts are intense and you are getting the proper rest/diet in between. Best of luck to you sir.
