I'm 16, 165lbs, 5'11".

I've been lifting for a while, but i've taken a break but I'm gonna start lifting again soon.

What supps should I take? Just protein to start off with, right?

Then in a few months, should I add anything? If so, what?

Thanks

Cheap supps can be found at this great site. (http://www.dpsnutrition.com) You can take protein, and glutamine may be of some help to you as well. If you wanna try creatine then go ahead, but I don't recommend it for those who are that young and just gettin into lifting. I believe learning correct form, technique to begin with is more important than supplementing. Just my opinion is all. ;)

all you need is:

protein powder (those 5lb jars will do)
creatine
multivitamin (varsity 2 is really good)
flaxseed oil

Ok, you need Deca, Dbol, 1-Test, Winstrol... just kidding.

It really depends on your diet. Food supplements are just that... supplements to your diet. If you are eating 6-8 meals a day and already have a pretty good macronutrient breakdown, I'd just take the multivitamin (and maybe creatine).

If not... I'd try to get your diet in order and supplement with these in the meantime:

1. Whey Protein Isolate
2. Creatine (no side-effects so why not?)
3. Multivitamins (2 a day... doesn't really matter what brand - make sure it is iron deficient though)
4. Glutamine (maybe... not really that necessary, but it is good for muscle recovery if you are lifting with intensity)
5. ECA Stack (in my opinion this is the second most important supplement next to whey protein, because it gets your adrenaline flowing for a training session - I use AST-SS's Dymetadrine Xtreme)

They are SUPPLEMENTS. If you need to supplement a certain nutrient(i.e. protein) than use it than...

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Ok, now that we've settled that, I would reccomend for you just protein and a multivitamin like GNC megamen's. Just get whey protein, so that you can mix some up as a snack if you dont feel like eating another freaking can of tuna or right after a workout.
I also reccomend that you invest in some Tuna. Lots of it. If you're eating fewer than 7 cans a day, you'll never get big and strong. And take 2 doses of the vitamins per day.
I wouldnt reccomend creatine unless you've been working out for a long time and have a good, very solid muscular foundation.

One of the biggest guy's at my gym eats about 9 cans every day. I think he could probably be used as a human thermometer by this point, though. Methyl-mercury=nasty stuff.
