I have been jogging for over a year now anf I have gotten real good. I log roughly 13k 3 times a week. How does this affect my weightlifting? I exercise my back both when I run and lift weights. How should I balance this?

Big muscles burn calories less efficiently, and it requires more energy to move them. Running long distances promotes smaller muscles with more endurance.

If you're running simply for health, then you should look into HIIT or any other type of interval training. Much healthier in my opinion, and much more compatible with any weight training.

Running longer distance can still have its place, as long as you do not push yourself too much. I believe you should do it with the goal of getting the blood flowing, which is good for enhancing recuperation and for the immune system.
