View Full Version : few lbs. to cut before competition

Hey guys. I don't usually post in this part of the forum but I do have a question to ask.

First off, the situation. I have a competition (powerlifting) in 3 days and I'm sitting right on the edge, as far as making weight. Weight class is 183, I'm at around 183-185 at any given time of the day. I just want to make sure I'm under weight for the weigh-in (6:30 p.m. on the 22nd). I know I can drop this off in water weight, and gatorade it up right after the weigh-in.

Here's my question's.

1. How much time should I leave between the weigh-in and the point when I stop drinking water (right now I've been drinking and drinking water and peeing all the time).

2. I've dropped off my carbs considerably for the past week to cut off about 5 lbs. (I was close to 190). How and when should I carb up so I don't overshoot the weigh-in, or come in feeling like a zombie?

Check out Bearwolf's journal I think. Built helped him make weight. You could PM Built directly as well.
