great lifting. You do a great job keeping the bar in close. That is something I need to work on.

Inspirational!

Just wondering, do you ever do conv. stance?

I want to start sumo(feels real natural) but most people advocate conv stance to get started.

how come you only do sumo deadlift?

RedSpikeyThing
04-22-2007, 09:48 AM
That is some crazy strength! Time to work on the rack pulls so you can nail the 2x495.

Cuz he pulls the biggest numbers like that.

samj

i know because theres less ROM

There's a lot of factors other than the ROM. What's your point?

It's nothing like going halfway down. Do some research before making asinine comments.

Chubrock, don't attack people.

Samj: sumo stance has it's benefits. For me, actually, I lift less weight sumo-dead because I don't have strong enough abductors and not enough flexibility.

Maybe Chris can answer your question better.

He is a powerlifter. He trains to move as much weight as he can. He uses whatever form allows him to do this.

You have a lot to learn. Please go read the powerlifting board. Nothing wrong with sumo.

I'll answer whomever, however I please. His comment showed that he doesn't know what he's talking about, so I told him that. I'm sorry your "E-Feelings" got hurt.

"E-feelings"? Chubrock, I don't really care. I just don't think it's appropriate for you to act the way you are. He had a legit question.

"I'll answer whomever." Good, then don't answer his question; ignore it. I was happy to.

i didnt know you where supposed to set your feet that wide, i had mine shoulder width. would that give me more of an advantage.

Maybe I read something into his posts that wasn't there. Heads hurt all day. I still stick by what I said.

It stresses different muscles than a conventional DL. I personally find sumo harder than conventional.

And he was using a full ROM for a sumo DL.

Chris Rodgers

Wow, this thread got some action.

I am personally stronger with a sumo stance. I have a lot of hip strength and speed from a few years of box squatting and free squatting very wide. I can move more weight that way. I have training partners who are way weaker sumo than conventional.

I don't only pull sumo anyway. I have my routine set now where I only pull sumo once every 4 weeks. I actually do more pulling with a conventional stance and/or stiff-legged.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Hopefully I'll get my pull up to 550 by my next meet.

And I am LMAO @ comparing sumo to only going half-way down on the bench. Gotta love that. Samj- go pull sumo and lemme know how you do.

Dude if you'd go more than halfway down, you wouldn't be near as strong. Loser.

I was quoting Chris, but I suppose they don't teach reading comprehension at your school. Learn to think before you make an ass out of yourself. Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut. As far as me being the loser, I suppose you're right. I'm incredibly weak for my size, and obviously don't have an intelligent brain cell in my body. Thank you for pointing that out.

I don't own the gym. They play crappy dance music. I don't do any editing to my videos to add my own music, so the crap you hear is what I have to lift to. It sucks, but I deal with it.

Justin Timberlake is some catchy stuff. I would forgive that. But the stuff playing is beyond fruity.
