What is the difference that makes the natural so much better?

Is this peanut butter alright?

SupR, it's the junky kind. Read Issue 7 of "Get Built" (http://builtblog.wikidbody.com/more-stuff-ive-published/), and also "Mmmm fat" (http://builtblog.wikidbody.com/stuff-ive-published/)for stuff on peanut butter and trans fats.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhh! You don't dump the oil - you stir it in!

Get salted. I'm partial to Adam's Crunchy, salted. Gaaaahhh I love that stuff.

The amount of trans fat in regular peanut butter is so negligible it's not worth wasting your time or money worrying over.

Eat your damn Jif.

Except it tastes like crap.

<loves her oily natty>

Also if you turn the jar upside down and refrigerate the natural PB after stirring the oil in, it helps keep it mixed in.

So your saying i shouldn't be worrying about getting natural PB?

and btw, i checked up on some natural PB at the grocery store today, and infact it had more saturated fat than the no name stuff i have at home. The Stuff didn't have any hydrogenated vegetable oil in it however... cant remember the brand name. Adam's maybe?

The recommended daily intake for trans fat is "trace amounts".

I think it is 2g, but yeah very little.

I tried Natty PB in my shakes and i hated it. I don't know, maybe it is an aqcuired taste.

After I tried Natty PB for a while, I went back to normal peanut butter and it was like eating wax. But not everyone will like the taste of Natty PB.

I think it is 2g, but yeah very little.Natty PB usually has around 2-3.5 grams of saturated fat. And trans fat is not saturated.

I eat Skippy Natural Peanut Butter. Natural, but doesn't seperate ad much as the other ones. Normal natural PB is too liquidy for me.

skippy is a step up from regular but still not quite natural.
Natural PB is so cheap these days that it doesnt make sense to even buy regular.

Refridgerate your pb after mixing in oil, you wont have that liquidy problem.

Once my last tub of Jiff is gone I'm 100% natural... I started the switch few weeks ago but had a few tubs of Jiff left (thanks to Sam's Club) I needed to finish. Hard to just ditch food.

I've tried several of the nattys and like the Krema the best... no salt ...just peanuts. And mixes real easy too. The ones with the salt are a bit over powering. And the Jiff is like candy now when I eat it.. too sweet.

Bah. Who needs peanut in "butter" form. I just eat jar after jar of unsalted peanuts.

I get my peanut butter freshly ground in the store, so there's no added anything! Otherwise I get mine from Trader Joe's. I won't eat a brand like Jiff.

I completely agree. After I started posting here I decided to try natural peanut butter and it really did taste a lot better for me.

Skippy Natural is awesome

and for whoever said "it's not quite natural"...you're wrong, the palm oil in it (which I'm assuming you're using as your reason) adds no trans fat

also, I hate refrigerated PB...just doesn't taste right cold
