I decided to start a new journal because I feel like my lifting career has been completely resurrected. I can't sleep at night if my workouts suck, I feel like punching co-workers in the face the next day when I don't hit new max's, and I'm legitamently mad If I miss a protein shake, meal, or my weight slips even a pound!

So I'll start it off with a great workout with new maxs.

Back in here for the first time since Tuesday, drove down to georgia for a wedding with Scott. Lost some strength but im sure I will get it back quickly, we added decline bench in place of incline bench. Good workout overall, I had a lot of energy.

Good workout today, slept before I headed over there. Weight was still at 214 even though I didn't get as many meals/shakes as I usually do which will mean tommorow the weight will probably be up. PR's are misleading considering I haven't maxed out too much on Back/Front squats.

Monday Chest ME

Took a set or two to really get into it. Got back to previous form on flat bench, PR'd on floor presses and declines. Flat bench 415 felt easy, thought I was slated for 5 lbs, and I thought I was gonna give 10 more lbs. a go. I think I undershot my sets and used up too much gas leading up to 420. After this workout I'm taxed....definately a DE day next week.

Thanks to the previous posts, I will respond and answer to all in this post.

I'm working overtime on my pulls and legs right now, they're both flying so I don't think it will take much time to be "up to par" with my pressing.

Beast - Yes I'm eating just about anything/everything all ****ing day, slamming 6-7 shakes a day, it's literally a part-time job, but it's definately working.

Rock Steady - I'm definately looking to get to 300 lbs...... when I get there, it will be solid, my metabolism won't allow me anything else. Thanks!

Guido - I'm not even near struggling for PR's, it's like clockwork right now. Go in there, put in hard work, keep my meals and rest on point and everything else is falling into place.....for now. 300 will take a little while, but I'll get there. Thanks for compliments!

Dante - This is going to be a very big year, and I'm predicting a very big summer to start with, for me and the team.

Cirino - I figured I'd start with cars first....you can't have everything in life. :)

shrugs on back (they used to be on shoulder) day? makes sense tho...also, explain to me why u do them behind ur body, i see people doing them in front of their body all the time

Great Workout, new maxs on everything, good energy. Thought I could have hit 325 on military press if I started out heavier and I took a normal 5 minute break. **** was pretty hot in the gym today, no AC with tons of people in it. Anxious to get back in there and I just got home....

thats a sick clean and press, is that press strict with no leg drive? because if you can standing press 280 strict i think your seated should be 325 no probs man.

I tried 325, I failed, I think I will be able to get it next week. Yes I use leg drive on my C&Ps not much but it is something, I could probably do it without leg drive but I'm just trying to move the most weight that I can on the exercises and I know I will be able to press more if I use leg drive (even though the press isn't the part of the lift that I fail at, I actually fail at the clean if anything, if I clean it, it's going up). Once I can clean the weight it's going to get pressed, my form gets better every week and I trust my legs more each and every week.

Good workout for arms, switched up a few exercises for a change and I liked them, might stick with them for a couple of weeks and see how results go. Hot as hell in the gym but I didn't "cool down" like I do sometimes in the winter so it was ok.

Switched chest to sunday since every single chest junkie does it on monday, worked out pretty well no one was on any of the equipment we needed to use. Pretty hot and humid in the gym I thought they should have had the AC on in there I was pretty shot towards the end of flat bench for some reason.

How or where exactly do you do your standing calf raises. The max that the standing calf area at my gym can handle is 10X45(450lbs).

Impressive work on the weighted dips too, you make it look easy, and you go below parallel, which furthers the impressiveness.

Was pretty tired, and my body was beat up a lil (had some weird feeling in my arm). Luckily I had off today give it some time to see how it feels. Tommorow is shoulder day and that might wind up being a DE day also. Arm day was pretty much just to keep the ball rolling, nothing special.

Scott has the chalk, he had to go early, so I was going to rely on his older brother to bring it with him when he came with me, BUT he didn't come so I was stuck without it this week. I was pretty pissed off, but next time around I got more.

I've decided I'm going to superset my arm day also, and it worked out very well for me. On a side note I've retired the idea of focusing on powerlifting, I'm going straight strongman. I'm going to set up some courses with scott pretty soon in the coming weeks. Back to business, good workout today considering I was SHOT when I work up for work. Haven't been taking my weight gainer but my weight is still the same so I'm expecting weight gains when I get back on it. :shoot:

C&P's blew my back up pretty well the day before, my lower back was actually sore that day, and my left arm has been bothering me. I go by what I feel that day as far as ME and DE days. If I feel good I'm going ME if I feel weak, I go DE.

Your looking pretty much like I hope to in about 10 months or so. Were roughly the same height but your 222 and I'm 265. Your also looking pretty big and lean.

Why so high rep with the shrugs? I'd think - with the numbers you post elsewhere - you'd hit them heavier for fewer reps.

I get a LOT of indirect low rep trap work from everything else I do. I feel like when I do low rep trap sets it really takes a lot out of me espically at the end of my shoulder workout cuz I'm pretty shot at that point.

Christ i'm eating insane amounts of fast food, double weight gainers, 4 protein shakes (which are basically gainers (460 cals each) junk food until its coming out of my eyes and stuffing my face from the time i wake up, til the time i go to sleep. My rest is where I need to get on point, everything else is dialed in basically. I'm starting to see gains again though since we've switched up certain things about the routine. Expect to see a lot once we switch the whole thing up.
