I bought some canned grapefruit in lightsyrup to get some carbs in me..The only problem on the ingredients it says there is sugar. It doesn't say what kind of sugar just says sugar. Do you think that if I wash them off really good it would be okay to eat or should I just avoid eating them all-together?

Thanks for your help!

The sugar most likely comes from the syrup. It's more than likely table/cane sugar.

If you're looking for carbs in your diet, why not get some rice/oats/sweet potato/broccoli/etc. Try for some more complex carbs - they'll keep you filled longer and probably have more fiber than you'll get from almost any fruit.

I think you can solve your problem by just buying a real grapefruit than getting it canned. The syrup's soaked all the way through so rinsing won't help.

there must a contact number on the label or product wrapper so, phone them and ask.
