I haven't lifted in probably a year and a half, but summer has just started and I want to actually get serious about it for the first time. I have used epedra before with good results but I also want to start using creatine this time around. Is it safe to use ephedra and creatine together? I bought this ephedra stuff :

http://www.thatswholesale.com/db69.html#ch469

but I'm not sure what creatine I should buy. Also should I start using protein along with all this, and what about multi-vits? I'm sorry for all the questions, but I'm a total n00b at supps, never taken any before really.

One more question, why does it say to stay away from cheese? "Avoid alcohol and foods with tyramine (such as cheese, red wine and liver) while taking this product."

edit: Oh and what about this NO Xplode stuff? I keep hearing about it from friends, but I don't know if it would be safe for me to take while on ephedra.

Thanks in advance everyone!!

Creatine and protein are both in food you eat everyday, of course they are safe to "take" with anything. My question is, why are you taking Ephedra? Are you on a cut? Do you know what it actually does?

And yes, you can eat cheese.

Alright gents, easy on the premature insults.

Creatine and ephedra are fine together. What side effects, or potential side effects, were you worried about?

is ephedra even worth using, because in Canada its banned, but i have very easy access to it.. and i was thinking about it for when i start my next cut, which wont be for about 15-20 more lbs but i would liek to know

If you have the extra money, yes it can be worth it. It's a thermogenic and a stimulant; stack it with Caffeine and it's very similar to something like Hydroxycut or Thermocin.

Ephedra is banned in the US too, which is why poeple use Ephedrine.

I wonder why that yellow bullet product contains capsicum. Anyone know?

you can buy stuff like bronkaid OTC at walgreens or CVS for very cheap, which is ephedrine. $7-8 for 24 tablets

Ostensibly it increases metabolism.

Technically this is correct. But the amount isn't remotely significant.

It's like saying "eating ice burns calories".

"eating ice burns calories".

Noted. I'll be ordering a package of ice tomorrow and tell everyone how it compares with Lipo-6, Hydoxycut, etc.

Edit: Before I order the ice I wanted to make sure It's safe to take with creatine? Thanks that is all.

Drinking ice water helps expend calories:

Let’s figure out exactly what you’re burning when you drink a 16-ounce (0.5 liter) glass of ice water:

* The temperature of ice water can be estimated at zero degrees Celsius.
* Body temperature can be estimated at 37 degrees Celsius.
* It takes 1 calorie to raise 1 gram of water 1 degree Celsius.
* There are 473.18 grams in 16 fluid ounces of water.

So in the case of a 16-ounce glass of ice water, your body must raise the temperature of 473.18 grams of water from zero to 37 degrees C. In doing so, your body burns 17,508 calories. But that’s calories with a little “c.” Your body only burns 17.5 Calories, and in the grand scheme of a 2,000-Calorie diet, that 17.5 isn’t very significant. But let’s say you adhere to the “eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day” nutritional recommendation. In 64 ounces of water, there are 1,892.72 grams. So to warm up all that water in the course of a day, your body burns 70,030 calories, or 70 Calories.

interesting belial..didn't realize that. Good thing the capsicum isn't on the outside of the pill, or that would be one hell of a pain to lose a couple pounds.

interestingly i read a article last night and the guy was saying the study on creatine and creatine together was a crossover study. Basically they were measuring all this stuff and there was only i week of crossover between them. I used the old ripped fuel with the ephedra and creatine and it worked good for me. Honestly there probably isn't enough studies done to give you a real answer. IMO you will still get the effects of the creatine as far as strength but the volumizing effect might not be as great due to dieritic properties.

i would suggest not taking the two together, because of dehydation. i dont see a noob who is trying to lose weight in the middle of summer, drinking enough water for either of the supplements in question.

i would also suggest you not taking any supplements at all, MAYBE a whey protein supplement. seems like your too eager to spend money on products that you dont even know what they are for.

I also have learned that noobs never listien to my advice or anyone else's advice. So at this point im just working on my post count

LOL, well thanks for atleast giving me a good answer unlike some of the idiots in this thread.

My friend bought me some creatine, called Kre-Alkalyn because he said from doing a little research it absorbs the best, but just like you, he said you need LOTS of water. And you are right, I probably won't drink enough which is the reason why I haven't started taking it. I am taking the ephedra though, I've used it before so I know how I react to it, it's not a problem, I just didn't know if taking creating would be OK while I'm on the ephedra. I will just wait till I'm done with it to start the creatine in a month or two.

As far as protein goes, what would you reccomend? I've seen people saying that a blend is the best way to go as compared to just plain old whey protein, do you have any input on this? Thanks again for the help!

If your friend bought it for you then use it. But dont waste your money on stuff like that. Creatine + Dextrose is just as good.

A protein blend is better compared to a whey only subject. But not 'Superior' (a word that gets thrown around alot here).
An All whey protein is just fine, especially for someone who is on a limited budget. That way you can buy more food

ON 100% whey is what i been using for years.

If you do have the extra bank check out At Large's protein blend, Nitrean. I use it only if i have the extra cash.

32.99 vs 42.95
Either is fine. IMO its quantity opposed to quality. It doesnt matter if it comes from fish, chicken, milk, 100% whey, or a protien blend. the most important thing is looking at fitday and seeing all your macros reached.

its safe to use the two together EOD
dont go over 90mgper day of the pharmacy stuff.

Honestly I don't mind spending extra on something thats better. It doesn't seem like GNC carries At Large's blend, what about Muscle Milk, or the GNC brand, are they just as good? I'd like to get some ASAP rather than order online and wait. Thanks again for all the info, I really appreciate it!!

Just eat some regular food for a couple days and order. It will pay for itself.
