Since trying to get back in shape, I've found it difficult to find a good substitute for cokes. What do ya'll drink? Water is fine for awhile, but I need some flavor. Gatorade, maybe? I need to lose about 60 lbs of fat, btw, so I'm really wanting to cut my sugar intake.

If youare trying to cut your sugar intake, don't drink sports drinks (like gatorade).

Stick to diet sodas or water.

Water, provided it's ice-cold, is quite good.

Those unsweetened, flavored, carbonated seltzer waters are good. I drink a lot of plain water but get tired of it sometimes too...hence the seltzer.

I usually drink Diet Coke/Pepsi but have since given it up for Lent in the spirit of self-improvement and self-denial, not really as a religious thing.

I also like hot tea (black, green, herbal) and iced tea (unsweetened, with lemon) as a non-calorie laden drink...

Yeah I use:

Water
Perrier
Diet pop - still somewhat sparingly...2-4 cans per week
Juice - I am trying to limit this unsuccessfully to a couple glasses per day. For juice you can use extra pulp orange or dilute juice using half water, etc...mainly i use water and perrier though...

Go look around a grocery store and you'll find some stuff...

Isn't orange juice almost as sugar laden as coke?

It's a different sugar but yes you still shouldn't drink too much. But of course there's also vitamins and minerals in it, and the fibre from the pulp if you get it like that. Pop is pretty much just crap in, crap out.

I'm an avid water fan.

That and skim milk is pretty much all I drink these days - and it actually refreshes me 10X more than soda.

Peppermint is one of my favorites too, especially when I have a cold or sore throat. The heat plus the coolness of the peppermint is very soothing.

Soda is evil. Stay away from it. Make the transition to diet - at first it sucks and you'll hate it, but you'll grow to like it and won't want regular any more. That's what I did, now I can't drink full sugar soda.

I drink water all day during work and at nights while I'm at home I'll drink a can or two of diet-caffiene-free-coke.

Theres this stuff called Lemonaide, not the squeeze stuff, but a workout drink. It has no sugar and all and its full of electrolytes. Its really good. I like the black cherry myself.
