Everyone here keeps telling me that flax oil isnt as good as fish oils. Can someone please explain why?

Flax seed oil is cheaper (15 bucks for half a liter), and contains the same thing as fish oils (to my knowledge).

As well, doesnt fish oils contain small amounts of mercury (which compound over time especially if you eat fish?)

Read get built articles. Flax needs to be converted in your body, so it isn't as good of a source of omega 3.

Hemp Seed Oil has a 3.75:1 Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio (considered optimal). Flax Seed Oil has a 1:4 Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio.

Hemp Seed Oil is a direct source of GLA, Flax Seed Oil is not.

Hemp Seed Oil is a direct source of Sterodonic Acid, Flax Seed Oil is not.

Hemp Seed Oil contains chlorophyll, Flax Seed Oil does not.

I only compare to flax because why people buy fish oil when they could just get it in a tasty protein filled salmon steak is beyond me.

oh yeah, this in no way says that people should not use flax, just not ONLY flax. I believe in balance and moderation. so mix the two, just be smart and include hemp oil.

(I jumped on the hemp bandwagon about 2 months ago)

Any idea how many steaks you would have to eat daily to get the DHA that folks here are getting from their fish oils?

I don't understand why people use supplements as replacements either.

Nor am I saying to use one source of fats either, that's foolish. What I do believe is over the course of a week, fats should come from all sources, hemp oil, flax, fish(I still wont buy caps though), coconut oil, olive oil, peanut oil, etc etc.

That's why they invented this really cool sweet new type of fish oil, it's labeled "burp free." Which leads me to my question, why do you say hemp seed oil is better then other oils you know very little about?

How much usable Omega-3 do you think you get from the hemp oil, Webb?

Found a link worth taking a look at. Compares flax/fish and is loaded with DPA/EPA/ALA info. http://gyminasuitcase.com/adw/omega3.php?gclid=CL_jopzhn4wCFRGCGgodqTFW6g

well I already posted a few reasons why I say hemp oil is better. If you don't like it, don't use it. Fair enough right?

The last I read was a study claiming roughly 20%. Then another said 80, you know how studies are.

Something must be inherently wrong when the percentages differ by 60 percent.

Name three foods that contain DHA?

Seafood, algae, salmon, sardines, and tuna. Eggs and organ meats have a small amount of DHA in them also.

My question was directed at the person claiming supplements should not be used to replace food. My point is that it is not palatable ,and barely feasible to get the DHA I get from my oils from food.

There is allways pure DHA but it's costly.
