Food can do the job naturally. Or so I have believed for all my years of training.

You can't argue against the evidence supporting creatine. It works.
I would agree that many supplements are useless.

99% of legal supplements are useless. Creatine and Whey protein are 2 of the legit supplements that is very useful in body building.
Here is a quote from ALN Creatine.
"Creatine is a naturally occurring substance which can be found most predominantly in meats. If we ate enough of the right foods, we could be certain to consume a sufficient amount of creatine to achieve an ergogenic effect. The phrase "if we ate enough of the right kinds" is the key. It would be difficult to obtain the amount of creatine needed from our diet on a daily basis. It would require the consumption of 3 pounds of beef, 3 pounds of salmon, or 3 pounds of tuna! That is a lot of meat!"

I completely agree with you..you DO NOT need supplements
however, they can be helpful
protein powders are a matter of convenience when you don't feel like preparing a regular meal and whey is great after a workout as it will be digested and absorbed more quickly after a workout than regular food
do you need supplements? No
do they help? they can

Why would anybody waste the time?
Supplementing your diet with protein, creatine, etc. has some merit. If you don't believe this to be the case, then you are only hindering yourself.
I have nothing against education, but when the prospective student claims a heavy bias against the course work, then it's a waste of time.

How natural is the food you consume?
Yes, I know, that is a whole other discussion.
Anyway, training while following a good diet can provide great results. Supplements, the right ones, can be an aid and improve your results. That is it in a nutshell.

The thing is this: in my teenage years I made better advances through eating eggs, meat, fish, almonds. I've never had creatine. I've tried some whey powders but they taste like ****, frankly.
I just feel like there is something so honorable about getting big from food and hard work, rather than supplements, food, and hard work.

I made great gains in my teenage years without the use of supplements as well. Now, in my late 30s I look better and am stronger than I was then. The difference? AtLarge supplements.

There were some good arguments, but think of this.
You can't eat a full plate meal while driving, but you can drink a shake.
But it whatever you prefer.

Bah. I weigh 136 or so pounds and I have NO trouble doing this.
You could go higher still BG.
