Never really eaten cottage cheese before, never appealed to me until today as work when I saw a 1/2 cup serving has 13g of protein (!!!). I tried some, it didn't taste too bad but it's so bland. Maybe because I was eating the crappy Guidas bulk cottage cheese. What's the best stuff out there? What can I add so it doesn't taste so.. bleh?

I eat it fat free, which prob tastes teh worst plain but some ideas:

Cottage Cheese, avocado, salsa.
Cottage cheese, peanut butter, fruit.
Cottage Cheese on top of salads.
Cottage Cheese Blended with Chocolate protein powder, frozen and served later.
Oatmeal with cottage cheese dumped in, piles of cinnamon.

Cottage cheese is very versatile.

Try adding some chopped up fruit to it. Or just man up and take it with a few swigs of water.

Uh, this man gags like Jenna Jameson when he eats cottage cheese; I have to hide it in some apple sauce.

A pinch of splenda. Fruit. Peanut butter. Nuts. Salsa. Add it to a protein shake. Use it to cook protein pancakes/waffles. Use it to make protein icecream.

I don't usually have protein shakes.. I'm looking for easy things to add so I can just take a cup of it as a snack or something. I'll try some fruit or some such I guess.

I usually use some yogurt...adds another 5 grams or so of protein too...but to switch it up I may try what Sek does...

You can use cott cz as ur dressing on a salad... put it on top of the salad n top it off with sunflower seeds... soooo yummy! Or my sbsolute fav- u can use the fat free for this too- use sugar substitute and add that in it with cinnamon. I know it sounds gross, but it's amazing! You add in enough to make it look the color of a light chocolate milk... Try it n let me know how you like it!

The best fruits to mix with cottage cheese (for me anyways) is fresh pineapple diced or fresh nectarines/peaches diced. Rasberries and blackberries can be good too.

So far Breakstone Cottage Cheese w/2% fat tastes the best of all low fat cottage cheeses if you eat it plain (it's fine that way too). However even the regular cottage cheese varieties are not high in fat. Fat free varieties don't taste as good and probably aren't worth the sacrifice in taste since the amount of fat in other varieties is low to begin with.

Eck, splenda. Probably healthier to use plain sugar unless one has a major diabetic problem.

Just do like Thailand does, and add half a can of mace to everything for a little "flavor".

Garlic Tabasco makes CC taste awesome.

I'm eating some now, mmmmm.

If you don't like CC find something else. Theres plenty of stuff out there that is just like CC but tastes better.

My favorite way just like Bec's is to take about 2/3 of a cup and mix it in with a container of yogurt that is blended already - Like NOT the fruit on the bottom style - Cottage cheese takes on just about any flavor you give to it well.

Do you have to eat cottage cheese? If your going on a forum to ask others how to make it taste better, than maybe it isnt for you? Just because its included in every skinny mans diet doesnt mean its whats best for you. Ive dieted doen 30lbs at a time and never ate cottage cheese because I think it sucks ass. Eat something else. Eggs are better.

Best way to eat cottage cheese? With a spoon right out of the carton!!!! lol I love cottage cheese and it's a good thing too. At 6'0" and 155lbs im gonna need to eat a ton of it during my diet for massive amount's of protine. The good part about it is I can eat a whole large container of it in one setting.

They have flavored fat free cottage cheese, I usually like plain but sometimes I'll pick up some pineapple or cherry flavored for some variety.

the way I would make cottage cheese taste better would be to dip it in the toilet after I took a dump. That stuff is GROSS and the texture makes me feel like less of a man

I've tried eating cottage cheese on several occassions and just can't do it. I end up gagging and almost puking regardless of how I try to disquise it. Best thing I've found is to use some incredibly hot hot sauce and numb the **** out of your taste buds.

i dont have a problem with the taste, in fact i find it pretty bland. its the disgusting chunky/lumpy texture I cant do. its so frustrating because its such a good source of protein and would make an awesome breakfast!

If it is just a texture issue, or even a taste issue then just cook with it. Blend it into smoothies, bake it into cakes or dishes. It is so easy to add into stuff.
