640 lbs.

Equalled my all-time personal best.

I weighed in at 232 lbs. clothed today. That's approx. 25 lbs. lighter then I was last time I got 640.

BilltheButcher, SupRsmall: Six foot even. You know it's funny, a couple weeks ago those guys asked me the typical question "how'd you get so big?". Them doing smith machine while I'm doing deads... hmmm

cphafner, jAy_Dub: Thanks dudes.

getfit: Thank you very much.

bulletpr00f: Don't know if you do but NEVER think of deads as a back exercise ever again. Instead think glutes, hips and hams. I've never had any injuries from dead lift, sumo or std.

Wow man, awsome lift.

I thought it was weird that nobody in the background even glanced at you either. I know if I had been in the same gym I would be staring in awe.

thats cause anybody can do 640lbs deadlifts, it takes a real man to do the bar on incline smith machine:strong:

Good job, you made it look easy. maybe you should grunt like a pig getting slaughtered so people think its hard and are impressed, instead of that little yelp at the end, or was that the kids on the smith machine.

Great pull! You know, your legs look really long.

I was gonna say that, but i think it's the belt plus him having a small waist gives you the illusion of him having really long legs. But then again, at 6'7 those legs better be long :D .

Amazing pull as always. you make it look easy.

In his profile it says 6 feet

he is, its just all the other guys at his gym are under 5'2" and 128lbs that make him look huge and tall.

That is truley amazing. What is your history with dead lifting.

I'm supprised that no one watched, I lift half that and get watched, they must be use to seeing you lift heavy.

The background of the video is funny, you are lifting a large weight while the guy in the background bench presses on the smith machine with no weight.

That's me on the smith machine. That was my PR attempt. In fact, this video was actually of my PR attempt, but some guy got in front of the camera and was messing around with a barbell. Now you can't barely see me. Ruined my vid. ;)

Insane lift man. Wish I could do that!

Ha Ha, I'm sure the bloke on the smith machine was just warming up, but it does look funny, considering the context.

I did deads for reps only forever... Started trying to improve my one rep max several years ago. I used to pull standard and got as much as 585 and then I switched to sumo and could barely get 405. I stuck with it and it's my preference now.
A lot of guys at my gym are too cool for school but yea, I really don't know wht the hell those guys behind me were doing. lol I would have been watching me. lol

Those guys on the smith machine are new to lifting. They're still trying to figure out what to do.
I don't go around giving out unsolicited advice but I hope that by seeing what and how I train will clue them in a little.
I'm sure a lot of you do things and then notice other guys emulating you. I see it a lot and it's awesome.

Hey, Thanks to everybody, I appreciate every one of you here on WBB.

I stuck with it and it's my preference now.Interesting. I just tried sumo for the first time and got 405 my first time, as well. Not great, but I had more in me. I'm gonna start doing them regularly to supplement my conventional pulling and I'll see how I like it, and if it might be better suited for me.
