since bad cholesterol levels drop on a ckd(ive heard it's because they get used as energy before they have a chance to affect blood lipid levels)would it really matter what type of fat i'm consuming, i mean wouldnt flax seed oil just be used as energy or would i still get the benefits of the omegas

Good fat on CKD = stuff that tastes good.
Bad fat on CKD = stuff that doesn't taste good.

I think you should eat only unsaturated fats at the beginning and the end of the no-carb period. Saturated fat lowers insulin sensitivity. You need insulin sensitivity at the beginning to get into ketosis, and you don't want saturated fat sitting around during your carb-up --- it will slow glycogen replenishment, and more easily be stored as fat once the body switches to glucose for energy.
That is also why I think it is best to do the depletion workout on a morning instead of an evening. The overnight fast is likely to burn all of the serum fat, and you can just wake up, eat an orange, and do your depletion workout. This depends on how long your carb-up is, though.
