View Full Version : Recommend Wrist Wraps

I really need a set, but only for my left wrist. I sometimes get some sharp pain in my left wrist when I grip the bar too wide on a bench press, and it's enough to make me wince in pain.

It's not just benching when it happens. Just today I was at work and set my hands on my hips and it happened again. It doesn't feel too good.

Anyways, I can grip the bar literally one finger's length closer and it completely goes away, but I'd still like some sort of cushion because I know it's going to happen eventually, and I'd like to plan ahead.

What would you all recommend for a decent set of wraps? I know not all are created equally, but I'm not interested in spending any more than around $20 for a pair since it's really nothing more than cloth.

man it's good to have wrist wraps for bench and squats on your heavy sets, just to help with joint problems. i've had inzer wrist wraps for awhile now, i love them, they are very strong and are $17 plus shipping.

im not the only one either, these are probably the most popular wrist wraps around, and there are a lot of powerlifters on here that will testify to them.

i have the inzer ones as well... they work just fine

I use the Metal triple black line wraps. A lot of people use the Inzer wraps. Inzers are cheaper (I think) and should do the job just fine.

I've used cheap wraps and the inzer wraps are off the hook, you can cast your wrist with them if needs be.

the 12 in ones are fine for general use.

If you're just using them for support go with whatever you want. If you compete or plan to make sure you check the rules for your federation about length.

I have used Inzer, Titan and APT. I like the APT the best. Just go with the 20" for now.

Today I had a minor wrist injury to my left wrist (The one I was worried about).

It's going to sideline me for at least a week :(

I was benching too wide. Left wrist has never liked that.

I use the Titan IronWraps and they work just fine. I broke a wrist a few years ago and I've had problems ever since but with the wraps it's never been as issue while benching.

Buy the longest wrap they sell. And, as a common sense check, if you can move your finger in 1, without pain, why wouldn't you just do that? I'll pose a question to you. How many times do you have to poke yourself in the eye with a pencil before you realize that it hurts and you should stop? Common sense will always prevail, hopefully. SFW

Thanks bud. I had to read that a few times to get what you were saying.

Here's the thing, I was fine throughout all my sets. It wasn't until I was finished and getting ready for rows that I had a sharp pain in my wrist. Felt like a fracture, but it wasn't. I felt fine until AFTER I was done benching. I wasn't trying to lift through the pain or anything.

And I had recently narrowed my grip on my bench, but I've been benching at home the past couple weeks. The rings on the bar are what I use to judge grip width, and my oly bar at home has them located in a different place. I couldn't judge accurately how wide I was benching before, but now I've got it measured by my hand width so it should be accurate next time.

It's actually feeling a helluva lot better today, so I'll be benching again tomorrow.

Believe me, injury prevention is #1 in my eyes at the gym, hence the reason I'm buying these straps, and the reason I've never had a major injury for the 3 years or so I've been working out. (knock on wood)

Sweet! You got my bad sense of humor. You are the man. The rings are 32" apart on a power bar. So, with a comp grip, your index fingers will be 32" apart. Good times. SFW!
