View Full Version : caloric question.......help please.

I've been tinkering with a fat loss diet for about a week. It's hard as hell to figure out what needs to be done to ensure proper fat loss while preserving as much muscle as possible. My dilemna is.....I just started back lifting about 2 weeks ago and started to diet also. I weight about 234LB's now at 6'0" in heighth. I'm basically keeping my carbs at around 100 grams a day with around 230 grams of protein. I'm not sure about the fat though. I'm guessing it's around 25-30 grams a day. Will be more once I add flax into my diet.

My question to help me with my diet is:

1. How many calories per gram of Protein?
2. How many calories per gram of Carb?
3. How many calories per gram of Fat?

I'm reading about these CKD & NHE diets; yet don't think I'd benefit good enough now because I'm still going through the SORE stage in my lifting and need a tad more carbs for energy to build up endurance in my muscles. Any extra help or pointers will be GREATLY appreciated. I can't tell you'll how much info I have found on this board since I first registered a week ago. It's almost TOO much to absorb!!:D:D Maybe some Gingko Biloba for my memory increase?;)
