I just started bulking up this week, got some good results muscle-wise but my stomach is getting a little big-as in abs faded a bit. How do you bulk without getting fat? TIPS?

Listen to your body. The best way to do this is with carb manipulation. If your getting fat drop your carbs a little, if your tired and lack energy up them. There's an optimum to find for maximizing muscle gains whiles not gaining any fat. Go under it and you won't gain, go over it and you'll get fat. This is why I always say you can't force feed muscle growth.

you couldn't force feed it, but do you think that if you upped your intake of everything and just got fat anyway, that you would get greater results for all of your work?
It isn't that hard just to go three months on and three months off, as long as you dont go bezerk, that's why people cut and bulk. Cutting is easier than bulking, for me anyway.

Yeah ... it depends what you really want. If your not bothered about being a fat ass, then bulking is the safest bet for maximizing muscle growth. (so long as it's a healthy bulk). The only probelm with this is ....... it's gonna be hard to get rid of this extra fat when you diet.

I personally enjoy staying in shape.

I know, I hate being fat, but it is worth putting up with the discomfort in order to reach the weight you want to be at when lean. When you hit the preferred lean bodyweight you can just maintain the muscle.

I always feel unreal when I am superfit compared to just being big, and I aim to go for that again in the end but with more muscle. I used to do Triathlons and I just want to bulk because all of the cardio in that makes you burn the food like fire. I am fatter now than I have been since I was 15 and I am only about 10% now. Being a guy is cool like that, how you can just go nuts on the food and know that even if you have gone bezerk and gottent a bit obese, you can do weights and end up with some really big muscles.

You can gain muscle and still stay in shape, if you monitor yourself correctly. You don't have to get fat to mazimize gains.

I think gaining maximum muscle and keeping fat the same is hard to near impossible. Keeping fat accumulation low is also quite hard and requires dedication and detail.

I like staying in shape but i'm undecided about doing a real slow lean bulk or just accepting that fat gain is inevitable if you wanna put on the max amount of muscle during your bulking phase.

It IS impossible, unless you are already fairly fat.

If you say differently, you do not understand the physiology involved.

i get very fat when bulking. i even do a clean bulk, maybe my calories are too high.

I agree with Par Deus.

My w/o partner attempted to bulk whist maintaning a very clean diet for all of the reasons noted, with little success.

When the carbs. were increased by a couple hundred grams a day he started gaining almost immediately and has continued for the duration of the phase.

He's now cutting using exactly the opposite philosophy with the same success. For him it appeared to be as simple as that.

Personally I'm still experimenting with caloric intake & ratios.

so basically if you take in a lot of fat and protein, but low carbs you won't get as 'chubby' looking?

no to your question above - wat too much and you get fat, regardless of the macro breakdown.
