Sick squat and even the 5th rep came up pretty easy. Real good technique as always too. You look pretty damn flexible too to be able to keep your hands in that close to your body. I think if I could get better at that I could be able to keep form better on narrow stance/high bar type squats.

Thanks everyone!!

Stump, you mean they come forward past my toes? If so, that's completely okay as long as they track the same direction as the foot.

Nice job! When are you going to do our challenge?

You still look like your setting up with your right foot a little forward. I'm sure you do it unconsciously. You might look into hip or hamstring left-right imbalances, former injury, etc.

I was thinking of videoing a squat session of mine. I was curious what is the best angle when asking for a critique?

EDIT: Strong as hell Anthony!

Thanks guys!!

Sensei, both feet line up with the crease in the mats, but I'll play around this week to make sure. I do have two minor injuries at the moment, and one is chronic (tore my hip a couple years ago), so I know there are imbalances that I should be more active in addressing. I can tell you it takes a **** load of foam rolling on my left side! I'm not sure when I'll hit 315 for reps ... I don't really want to mess up my groove with sq/dl at the moment ... I WANT those PRs BAD!!

con: I would say from the side or even a rear-quarter view would be the best on vid.

Yeah, I thought so. It looks like you are favoring your right - which would explain the staggered stance. Your hips shift a little to the right as you squat. I know we've talked about this before and that's the only reason I'm harping about it...

Only two months on that 315 challenge left.

awesome squatting!
Sensei, I'm not sure what you're talking about.....I guess it's pretty subtle. I'll have to make some more vids to get critiqued on :)

Nothing is more beautiful than the shaking sound of 45 pound plates :D

Sick squatting, and sick calves. I think you could've gotten maybe another 5-10 lbs no problem

thanks for the link, but the video you are referring to isn't up any more. Do you have any resources about the finer points of squatting?

July 16, 2007: 385x5 at body weight of 178 ... weight was a bit low due to food poisoning on Sunday/Monday. Not sure how I pulled off a PR, but I'm not complaining! No ALN shirt in this vid, though ... sorry Chris!

Both sets on the video were awesome Anthony...
Great job.. great PRs!!

Do you have a SQ Rep goal like your DL goal? Trying to hit 415 or 425 x 5 by Sept. 1st.? Sounds reasonable... :)

Thanks Bear & Chris! The goal as of now is anything over 405 (current PR). I'm secretly hoping for 425 in the near future, but don't tell anyone in case I **** up. ;)

Here's 390x5 at body weight of 180.

That's some excellent squatting my man. I'd say you've got a 450+ raw squat now, easy.

I'm sure you've got a new PR in you.

Strong set Anthony! When you were getting your breath inbetween your legs were a little wobbly but it's cool when your doing +2x bw squat.
