View Full Version : From severe anxiety and depression, to division 1 mens rugby

Long story short i used to be a golden gloves boxer and rugby player (flyhalf) all through high school. my junior year i started to develope an anxiety problem. i never really did anything to fix it and it just got worse and worse until i had a full blown case of anxiety and depression. i lost so much wieght and all my training withered away. i was in the lowest point in my life. i lived every day thinking i was going to die and fighting panic attacks. this lasted 3 years.

i finally found a psychologist who recomended i talk to my family doctor about a new SSRI called lexapro. i started taking it two months ago and it changed my life. i have had no side effects at all.

heres me three months ago before i started this medicine. only wieghed 160pounds at a height of 6' 1'' i had withered away from 170

and heres me as of today. im at 180 and starting to reach that insane endurance i use to have.

now im going to use this thread to track my progress, i still cant belive i achived what i did so far, i would have NEVER thought this possible before i started taking lexapro.

strength is growing rapidly. i finally reached my goal on squats and got to 400.

Congrats on fighting your way through, man. I used to have sever anxiety myself, then I took some medication for a few months and it totally reversed me, too! Wish you the best of luck getting back to where you were and rugby!

I haven't posted here in awhile but im back up to 185 soild. looking to hit 195 before the spring season.
