"The fat on your belly may be there because of stress in your everyday life, and researchers think they may know how to get rid of it.

Studies of mice and monkeys show that repeated stress and a high-fat, high-sugar diet release a hormone, neuropeptide Y, that causes a buildup of abdominal fat, researchers from Georgetown University reported Sunday.

Manipulating levels of that hormone could melt fat from areas where it is not desired and accumulate it where it is needed, the researchers say in the journal Nature Medicine..."

haha I hear that, I love when people go to McDonalds, buy 10 items on the dollar menu and then proceed to purchase a diet soda.

For real.

I find when I'm totally stessed out I can't eat much at all, so I lose weight.

Most people though when stressed deal with the stress by snacking on junk.

It just matters how you deal with stress.

It's all contained in their eating habits, if you change that you change the majority of the problem.

Why not get the diet coke though? I'd rather eat just a shyt load of of fat, than a eat shyt load of fat along with shyt load of sugar to with it to drink, might as well just get diet; tastes the same to me.

Yea, gotta agree with iron. Why compound the problem with liquid cals(far to easy to rack those up) when their is a nice alternative?

I often do the same thing whenever I'm cheating (grab a diet coke instead of the regular stuff). I actually prefer the taste of the diet coke anyways plus I'm not getting the empty calories that I don't care about.

I'm guilty of the diet coke thing...

I just can't bring myself to drink a gallon and a half of High Fructose Corn syrup.

Stress does not make you fat.

A slow metabolism + being lazy + eating more then you should + eating just about completely wrong from a nutritional standpoint makes you fat.

Here, here.

Acutally obesity is a virus, you must eat to keep it at bay.

Stress can lead to becoming fat...
Stress can lead to depression.
Escape depression with food.
Depressed with no exercise.
End result fatness! Full 267lbs of it (myself 4 years ago).

**** that. When I'm stressed from work I get ****ing pissed, and the last thing I want to do is eat. I tried to eat a burger after work today and I couldn't even take in one bite.
