Ive got a major rugby tour coming up in a few months in barbados and i need to get bigger to hit harder because we will be facing naturally bigger, faster and stronger players. I also need to get slimmer to make my body more effective. If anyone could give me tips on rugby specific areas to work on or workouts which would help me specifically in those areas. I play on the right wing if that helps.

Many thanks

Google Bill Starr 5 x 5 and give that a try. Eat big aswell.

yea, but surely ill have to balance my diet alot and do cardio to keep very slim because the heat in barbados will exploit all the fat on me and wear me down quicker

getting bigger won't make a big difference in your tackling prowess, unless you're talking about the size of your gonads. Sure maybe packing on a few pounds of musce will boost your confidence in taking down some lumbering 110 kg prop but in the end its technique, timing, and balls that will enable you to knock him flat on his ass.

dont talk cobblers, if all other variables remain constant and you put on two stones of muscle your certain to nail more tackles and bounce more tacklers.
