Ran UD 2.0 on two seperate occasions and didn't like it. 1500g of carbs in 24 hours = ****ting 10x a day for the next 2 days. Thats a no go for me because I work 6-7 days a week.

I eat a 200-250g protein, 100gfat, 80-120g carbs a day. Carbs eated mostly before and after workouts. Refeed 5 hours once a week. In the past 5-6 weeks along I've dropped 14lbs, and I know its not initial water weight because I have been cutting for about 10 months now.

Thanks guys. I have been off the diet for a few days and I am up 4.5lbs of bloat. Here are some shots my brother took this morning. I need to learn how to pose, I'm leaning too far back in the lat spread. I also need a tan. 2-3 more days of maintenance eating and I go back to PSMF style dieting.

you might be leaning a bit too far back, but you gotta think when you're posing for the judges they are going to be below you, so leaning back is going to give them the best possible view of your back... Regardless you're lookin sick, about the same build as me right now, albeit you have about 60 lbs on me. What kind of diet are you using to cut the weight?

My goals? Over the next 40 days to drop another 8lbs of fat. Followed by 24 weeks of bulking and a cut in the spring that will lead up to my first BBing comp.

You are a big boy. To be honest it doesn't look like you have much excess skin around your waist compared to the rest of your upper body. Looking at the new pics that show your entire upper body, I would say your bodyfat is close to 20%. I am not trying to rain on your parade and I am sure this is not what you wanted to hear but I am just trying to be candid. Good luck on the rest of your diet and the bulker you are starting soon. You are a big guy, and since your bulker is going to be assisted you are going to blow up.

No doubt gabe. I can assure you I am not 20% lol. Ive been off the diet for a week and bloated a solid 8lbs. I just clipped 12-13% Via 1 and 3 site. Figure +2-3% for error. Then again I have to be honest and say the numbers don't mean much to me at this point. I'm going by the mirror. I think I'll hold off on anymore pics till I'm done with the cut. I'll be darker, leaner, and I'll use a better camera.

Looking good man. Your progress looks like it might have slowed a bit, but that's expected as your bodyfat gets lower. I'd peg you at 15-16% bf, but you may be lower than that. It's a little difficult to assess differences because the lighting condition and angle of these photos is quite different from the last set.

I also hae to forwarn you, given how long you've been dieting, take it easy on the bulk. Treat it like you're dieting and then just add in a little food at a time. I've made the mistake many times of "Oh, I'm done dieting...now I'm gonna get hyoooge!!!" and undone months of hard work as a result.

The reason I ask is because althought you are a **** ton bigger than me, we seem to have similar fat distribution. I also seem to be faintly seeing my abs, but I dont feel lean. Chest has some flab, but no tits, very similar indeed.

I'm taking wild stabs in the dark. I'm using calipers and adding 1-2% for error and going off of other peoples opinions. I don't care about actual numbers though, the mirrors definitely more important.

Yea I'm starting to see veins in many new places. This is the leanest I've ever been. Weight about 215-218.

I'm starting to feel very small and weak though. I'm buying a blender today. My ON whey came in the mail a few days ago and I drove home to get it. Time to start eating. I've had about 100g of protein and 2000 cals total in the past 2 or so weeks. Yikes.

I wondered about this as well. I have plenty to lose and I have basically just been a portion control nazi, cut carbs off after noon, and eaten clean. Were you able to still have energy to lift and function on 300 cals a day?? Or have you been more focused on dieting than working out?

I used to have a gut like yourself and I just can't seem to get rid of that last little bit of crap around my middle.

Not exactly, what I did towards the end was starve myself unintentionally, I wasn't eating due to some personal issues.

I wondered about this as well. I have plenty to lose and I have basically just been a portion control nazi, cut carbs off after noon, and eaten clean. Were you able to still have energy to lift and function on 300 cals a day?? Or have you been more focused on dieting than working out?

I wouldn't do anything like I did at all. Just stick to a deficit and carb cycle.

The Cut lasted 12 months or so, I am bulking now and Have been for about 6-7 weeks now.

Weight is at 232-234lbs @ 14ish% bf right now. Up from 212 in that last set of pics.

The gear comment had nothing to do with his current physique picture. He was "on" in October, then quit lifting. It seems quite common here for people to have a cycle for better or worse, and immediately stop lifting for some reason.

Paul has worked hard, shown great discipline and determination in the transformation. I remember him starting heavier then I was and am now.

Gear had or has no significant effect or factor in his transformation or him stopping. Man's had some **** go down, it happens to the best of us.

No, shoulders are def a weak point, but the arms do over shadow them. I'm definitely working on it, and feel my shoulders have def improved over the past few months. I will work out physique imbalances after I get a better look at myself on show day.

Hey guys. I've been on these boards a long time and a lot of you guys that followed along with my journal in the beginning know how long and bumpy of a road this was. It wasn't till about 2 1/2 years ago that I decided to turn a complete 180 and realize my dream. I'm glad I can inspire people but honestly it wasn't very hard. The key is wanting it enough. There is nothing more important than planning out a proper diet, sticking to it, making adjustments as needed. That along with consistency will allow you to get to places you never thought you could go. You really just have to want it bad enough.

Hey guys. I've been on these boards a long time and a lot of you guys that followed along with my journal in the beginning know how long and bumpy of a road this was. It wasn't till about 2 1/2 years ago that I decided to turn a complete 180 and realize my dream. I'm glad I can inspire people but honestly it wasn't very hard. The key is wanting it enough. To everyone out there, whether your trying to drop 35% of your body fat and compete in an amateur BBing comp, or stand 6'2" weighing 145lbs and are trying to pack on muscle. Awesome new pics btw. Considering you've done this natty, you have to be happy about how much muscle you've held on to. A lot of guys would shrivel up at that such low bodyfat levels. Great work.

I'm pretty small lol. I'll be ~175 on stage at almost 6'0" tall. I have tiny bones though, bodybuilding is all about illusions anyway ;)

Congrats again man. It may be simple, but if it were easy everyone would be walking around in competition shape!

So I gotta ask, what type of bodyfat range do you plan on shooting for post competition. Hate to take your eyes of the prize and ask longer term questions...just curious how your perspective has changed having seen the full spectrum of body composition.

I'm going to reverse diet out. Meaning metabolic rehab macros for 1-2 weeks after the show and then as the weight gain stalls add in 25g CHO or 10g Fat. Pref CHO.

I will try to keep fat gains min and make the most of my 12 month grow season. The goal is at least 10lbs of LBM before I diet down for the 2011 competitive season and shoot for that natty pro card.

Well you've got a good illusion going on cuz you look like you have maintained a lot while losing all that fat. How is your strength doing in comparison to when you were heavier?

I don't know what kind of competition you're going up against, but comparing your physique to the guys in my area that compete natty, the type of conditioning that you'll be bringing to the table is one that few guys have (Midwest shows).

Hey Jay, my strength is better now at 3 weeks out and <180lbs compared to beggining of prep and even compared to when I lifted pretty consistently ~240-250lbs.

And as far as conditioning goes, that is what I am striving for. To be one of the leanest and meanest mofos out there.

Basically reading as much as I can and learning how to weed out bad information. Another big part of it was trial and error on myself. Having lost almost 120lbs I have learned a trick or two. What are ur current stats?

I got interested in nutrition as soon as I joined this forum. Reading through nutrition threads and reading what some of the more educated senior members had to say played a big part. I got actively involved in many conversations and I really fell in love with it. I'm currently studying for the NASM CPT exam and am looking to get my nutritionist cert asap. I plan on making a living doing what I love.

I am a firm believer that a calorie is always just a calorie. I don't eat "clean" regardless of prep or "offseason". I just try to hit whatever my target macros are using the tastiest possible foods.

You will be pretty surprised at my post contest approach. I will diet out of the show but should be eating 500g+ of carbs a day within a few months.

I saw that you got help from Phil Hernon and Alberto Nunez how did you get in touch with those guys and what advice would you give someone that isn't looking to go into competition but would like to work on their diet and lean out. Meaning is there a site to find decent nutritionists in your area, where did you go looking for guys to help you with your diet and what qualifications should we be looking for? Thanks.

Phil Hernon was a complete waste of money as far as nutritional advice goes. I can do a much better job at setting up a diet for someone.

Berto was hired more so for keeping an objective eye on me during prep so I can have unbiased adjustments made to my diet. Also one less thing to stress about during an already very stressful prep.

I'm in the process of getting my own site set up and will be doing nutritional/training consults via pics/email soon. I've been practicing with a few volunteers and the results have been pretty great.

I found Phil Hernon was a popular choice on his home board, promuscle.

I got was referred to Nunez by a fellow competitor. Working with him has been priceless.

As far as getting lean, the sky is the limit regardless of whether or not you are competing or just getting lean for yourself.

I hit 225 x 6 on bench last week, 315x6 on stiff leg deads, and 225 x 21 on ass to grass squats today. That's 2 1/2 weeks out from a show. Off season I'm sure they will be less laughable.

I never max though. No point for me.

Take whatever the **** you are eating right now and eat less than that. 1 week later, see if you lost any weight. If not, lower your ****ing calories again. Everyone is different. BCC used to cut on 6000 calories. I bulk on 2500.
