As most people do, I like to eat....a lot. But I am trying to lose a lot of weight and eat healthy. I often get cravings throughout the day and I want to know if there are any foods you know of that will not add the calories but will curb and satisfy my appetite. I also work a night shift and often times the only thing that will keep me awake is when I am munching on something. Thanks for your time and I look forward to your advice.

When you find a calorie free food that staves off hunger, patent it. Fast.

anything with high fiber, like celery or carrots. Carrots have carbs though, I don't know what your diet goals are.

Almonds make me feel full as heck! I don't think I could ever eat a cup in one sitting. 1/4 of a cup always leaves me full and bloated for a while. And I'm not a wuss either, I normally eat alot but almonds just fill me up.

Also another thing is veggies. Broccoli or collieflower or carrots, stuff like that, they're low calorie and always make me full.

Cottage cheese is also low calorie and somewhat filling.

I'm going to assume that this is a joke, but what does "FTW" mean? Forgive my ignorance.

whoppers or big macs are delightful. Like the previous posts, anything green and nuts is a way to go.

Fiber is your best bet nothing can really beat it.

There are actually plenty of no-low calorie things you can eat to curb appetite. High fiber veggies, certain supplements (caffeine ginseng etc.) diet soda (high carbonation helps to feel full) sugar free jello is a good option. You just have to look around. I cut on 1300 calories so I know all the tricks lol.

Fiber is definately #1.

Examples:

Bran, seeds, beans, nuts, oats, broccoli, avocado.

For more foods, google "negative calorie foods". The idea there is that these foods contain so few calories that you actually burn more calories digesting and metabolizing them then are actually in the food itself. The majority of these foods are fruits and vegetables - you can never go wrong with those anyways.

Examples:

Vegetables

Fennel, broccoli, leek, cabbage, lettuce, carrots, cauliflower, peppers, celery, radish, spinach, tomato, cucumber, turnip.

Fruits

Apricot, orange, blackberry, canteloupe, peaches, clementines, plums, raspberry, grapefruit. rhubarb, guava, strawberry, honeydew melon, tangerine, lemon, watermelon.

Thanks for all the info. I made a run to the store and bought a bunch of fiber-full veggies and fruit and a lot of bran and oat stuff. Thanks again.

Hopefully the internet failed to pick up sarcasm in this rare case. If not that is terrible advice. Eat whatever as long as it fits in your caloric total for the day? Come on.

Fruit, unless a very very small serving, is not really a low-cal,fibre laden food.

Maybe 100g of strawberries (2g fibre) and thats about it.
