I went HUGE on my opener. Opened at 903 just missed it at lock the out. I then went 903 on 2nd attempt misgrooved it. Then took a 3d attempt at it and drove it about 3/4 the way up before staling out.
No excuses on my part, my goal was 900 plus at this meet.
I went after it and I failed!!!
I will regroup move forward and try it again shortly.
Thanks to everyone for there support and encouraging words.

I think if I was going bench only and had a goal like that I'd do the same thing. People always bash Mendy on the net for that, but why waste attempts at lighter weights?
So when's the next shot at it?

Mike, you gave it an excellent ride!
As I mentioned at the meet, if you had used the 2nd shirt for your first lift I think you would have had it. In any event, you will get it very soon as you handled it well.

Must of been a treat for anyone at the meet to see an attempt at that wt. Maybe next time get r done

sucks you missed 'em, but thats allot of weight! your not far off from locking them out, good attempt.

It happens man. I've seen Robert Vick or Tommy Harrison bomb at several meets trying to hit a goal weight, so it's not like you're the only guy it's happened to. Keep at it, man. You'll get it soon enough and be on that PL USA cover, bug guy!

Great effort man... giving it 3 attempts that were so close has to give you strong confidence for next time. You know you can get the weight now.

You'll get it wolf, do you have journal or maybe even a single workout I could look at, i couldn't even imagine repping in the 700-800's like i'm sure your doing

you had 3 near misses with over 900lbs, that has to give you more confidence handling that weight at your next meet.
