so..this is the first REAL training i've done since i started powerlifting in 2011. and it was quite impromptu. sat 12/8 i came to the gym not sure what squat routine i was going to do. so...i jumped in with my one teammate and did his smolov day 1. needless to say...i loved it....and i loved it...
Decided to start a log, I am a competitive powerlifter... weight is around 245lbs and compete in an IPF affiliated fed and most importantly lift RAWWWRRR... no geared aspirations sadly!
without further ado: lets get this started!
I hired Alex Viada on here to get my strength in the big 3 up over the next several months. From there, I want to lean out while maintaining that strength then transition into BB mode. I would like to hit 3/4/5 for reps before leaning out. But the biggest thing is I want to KEEP that strength,...
I figured I'll start up my journal over here as well. Like to have a backup and one of the forums I used to have my journal is no more. Also, this is a perfect time as I'm more or less starting over from a year off from any kind of consistent or serious training after having a lot of life changing...
Hey everyone, I'm getting back into lifting after a very long time off. I'm looking forward to losing some fat, gaining some muscle, and getting as powerful as possible. I feel like I could lose 20 lbs of fat and be pretty lean. I'd like to gain about that much muscle mass, so I'd like to stay...

I often get asked how I train. I train very much based on how I feel, so that is a hard question to answer sometimes. I do have set days but my actual workouts very. If I have a competition coming up I have my way of peaking, but even that changes. It will change from meet to meet, as I change, my...
Pretty new to this forum. I've spent the last 3 or so years working out, the first 18 months or so pretty regularly, got my strength up to a decent point. Last 18 months I trained maybe 2x/week, switched routines a bunch of times, rehabbed a couple of niggling little injuries, and...
I finally got a new gym membership and I'm back in business, so its time to get busy. I figured it warranted a new journal. This was today:
Just deleted all of the about me cause it always changes, check out my facebook if you want more info.
TODAY: Today we maxed on Bench, Pullups, and Hang Clean. I started off cold with pullups with palms out shoulder width grip and got 13, fresh off is when i can do the most pullups, and I do...
I've been working out since Septermber, 2003 . My progress has been decent; more than doubling the weight I lift as of July 2004. I still however am nowhere near the level of strength I want to (and have to) be. So this journal will hopefully bring in other's insight and recommendations, which will...
So the new log begins...

Hoping to go 2500 before this year is out.

It's been a while since I posted last. After my last contest on April 28th I took 2 weeks off training and diet to let me body and mind rest and relax from the 6 months of contest prep. How I got started benching
So I am going take ya back to when I started to bench. First off I had two horrible experinces growing up trying to workout. First one I was about 7 years old. I saw a video of Hulk Hogan and I thought man I want to be as big as him. So I thought it would be a good idea...
This thread is obviously very very old thus the reason i've edited the title and this opening post. For anyone who doesn't know me...
I'm a big fan of powerlifting and strength training in general and was very consistent for many years...
Hey! I've been training for about a year and a half (after nearly 10 years of inactivity in over 20 years as a nuclear submariner) and this journal is mainly to help me keep track of progress whilst (hopefully) motivating me to push harder!
In the 1st year of training I put on about a stone of...
I been keeping a journal on FI but, that place seems to have caught internet AIDS, so I'm stalking Tone and came here. Been lifting almost 10 years, and have done 3 powerlifting meets. last one was oct 10. I lift using 5/3/1 triumvirate, most of my training is focused on on fighting though. I train...

Just to give you guys some background information on myself, I have competed amateur and pro from the 220's to the SHW's. I used to compete full meet, but ruptured two discs in my back which caused me to be a bench specialist (well, for the most part). I once held the all time 275 record and my...
