Back from my honeymoon cruise. Had a great time. Ate way too much.
WOD (what a bitch this was)
200ft walk with 95lbs overhead
30 wide grip deadlifts @ 205 (switched to 185 at rep 11)
20 ring dips (12 of those with a band)
50 kettle bell swings @ 53lbs
30 med ball cleans
200ft walk 95lbs overhead
Wide grip deads are really hard on the hands so I dropped it to 180. Ring dips I just suck at. Did fine on everything else. That last walk was miserable.
Wow that looks terrible. How were those overhead walks? I need to try those.
that doesn't look like any fun at all
No bullshit, lol.

Today was 8 minutes of
5 clapping push ups
3 wall ball
Got 9 rounds + 2 pushups. Better than I thought but I started off like a champ and expected more, but as usual the pushups turned ugly about 5 rounds in. Oh well.
Did 50 double unders and deadlift sets up to 265. Back is pretty tight so I didn't push it. Think I did 60-70situps too.
Sorry I've been so bad about your journals. With all my trips and mandatory OT at work, I barely find time to post a workout. :)
nice job getting in the training while being so busy
Nice couple of workouts, I like that 8 minute amrap you did. I think I'll have to try it. They always look easier than they are though haha.
I hate running. Good for you for getting it done though. Better man than me.
You being busy and all is a damn good thing Pat, lol.
Aug 4th workout..
10 pull ups
30 double unders
Not too bad but missing so many workouts this summer has really hurt my kipping rhythm.
Weight is finally back down to where I was before the wedding. School is back in session here and my wife is a teacher, so our regular routine with the kids and cooking dinner nightly will be back to normal. Much easier to stick to the lifestyle.
Congrats on getting the weight back under control.
Thanks for the support!
Ok..today's WOD was horrendous. Within 30 min of the end of the workout my ass cheeks are locked up worse than Elton John's at a Hell's Angels convention.
15 Sumo High Pull @ 115lbs (sumo DL stance/grip, pull to above nipples)
30 walking Lunges w/45lb plate overhead.
Time cap was 18:00. I got everything but the last 2 lunges. I fell down. Then i just laid on the floor for at least 15min. Sweat was actually pooled up under me..lol
Then did 35 situps and about 50 double unders and some handstand pushup work.
Not a big fan of SDLHP but damn at the work done!
Digging those rounds dude.
7 front squat @ 135lbs
7 handstand pushups
Time cap of 25 minutes
Got capped at 6 rounds plus the run. I felt awful. My legs were SO sore after yesterday, and I just felt wiped out in-general. Very poor performance, but just to finish that workout requires sub-3:00 rounds, which I think is pretty damned fast.
Otherwise, did 30 double unders but my legs quit working. I am totally wiped out.
6 rounds looks good for that workout, the run would knock me out with the difficult lifts in between.
That's a nasty looking WOD. Very nice.
Putting yourself to the test bro.
Bulger looked brutal...To celebrate, we gave you a CrossFit forum :)
LOL..I noticed that this morning Offroad. Thanks. Too bad the typical CF bashing has already begun. We'll stay optimistic though!
30 Squat Cleans for time, with 10:00 cap, then run 400m 1 minute after the WOD ends.
I can do 165 but not quickly. Got 21 reps in 10min. I have a habit ofcatching the bar in an ATF squat and it started getting REALLY hard to come back up. Oh well.
After that, did about 10 dead hang pullups a few at a time with sets of 25 double unders in-between. Then did sets of 25-50 sit-ups with double unders in-between, then push pressed some sets of about 60% of 1RM with double unders in-between.
That's about all I suppose.
Thanks for the support!
Also..I got a black (extra firm) Rumble Roller last week. That this REALLY gets deep into the muscles. Took away all my back pain in about 20 minutes. It DOES feel like a mob of midgets punched me in the back about 100 times. Those spikes can be hard on the skin and fascia, but I still recommend. Might wanna get the blue one first though. Not as firm. :)
