Diagnosed: A type IV tear in my upper bicep tendon.
Just came back from the orth and he said that MRI came back indicating that I have this type of injury( Type 4 SLAP lesion). I am almost positive I got it from shrugs. My decision is surgery, because I see it being a concern in the long run if I don't repair it now. My question is has anyone had this type of longitudinal tear?..if so how long was the recovery post surgery? He also said that if its bad He will cut the tendon off, remove the crakced portion, and attach it to my upper arm by drilling a hole in the bone. So it will sit about an inch lower then when it was connected to at the shoulder. How secure is this ancher for future bicep curls...?
