Form was a little off tonight. Arch kept collapsing. Ive been having a bitch of a time benching off boards lately. Its half me and half the shirt. Definitely need a new one soon. Need to get this one a tune though until i can afford one, but not enough time before this meet. The way its going, ill be happy to crack 600 this meet. Its not a big deal as this meet is just to get a total for the XPC semis in the fall.

The plan was to work up to a projected 2 attempt. I wouldnt normally do this, but since im such a short training cycle, i wanted to het some heavy weight on my back. 800 was easy, so I decided to just go with 9plates and give it a run. Felt heavy from the get go but I thought I could get it. My feet were numb from wraps and had a hard time finding my feet under the bar, and it turns out my stance was narrower then usual. Right knee started to cave in near the hole, so I had them take the bar. With good set up, i should get it. Im looking more at 800-845-865ish. Heres the 800:

Good training night. Wanted to touch about my estimated opener to get some full ROM work. 585 is a bit light in the shirt and it was tough touching. I dumped it a little but was able to recover and muscle it up. A little more weight will be perfect. Here it is:

What do you think about using chains in a bench shirt touching or low boards? I saw you did several a few weeks back.
Very nice front squats btw. That's one lift I've never been able to feel comfortable enough to do without the bar feeling like it will fall off even with a plate. But 450 is more than I have seen most people do on it other than a few shws.
Thanks alot for the kind words about the frt squats. Its a lift I really believe helps both my squat and pull. Ive been working hard to get it up to 500 mark which i think will be there soon. I have the same problem using a straight bar. My shoulders are so compact i cant get the bar to sit properly. I hit the hole and it jist rolls. Using the reverse ssb really takes the worry out of it and still gives tou the same weight load.

Really good day. Felt very strong squatting today. Confidence is through the roof for the meet. Very happy with the quick progress since the surgery. Next week ill hit my opener(800). Then hopefully all goes good with the cut. Heres the last squat 505:
Squat looked strong, that's some serious band tension! I miss those days, lol.
I'm also a big fan of using a SSB for front squats. I can't stand that pressure on my shoulders when using a straight bar. My best front squat w/SSB is 425x3. I think after RUM, I'm going to work on them a little more.

Tonite I was supposed to hit my opener, but once I started warming up I just got zapped of energy. Pushing it so many weeks in a row, and the heavy band squats 2 days ago, along with a low calorie day just was a recipe for disaster. 365 felt like shit, and after 405 I decided to shut it down and just wait to hit my opener next week.
