Another short day on accessories. I was actually working and left to go squat, so ill try and hit some band stuff at home. Strength is feeling good. Was still trying to find the right stance. Was an inch high all day, so next week I really have to sit in the hole and start getting to depth. The last set of 700 I think I found the right stance. I moved my feet in an inch on each side and pointed the toes out just a little more. Felt pretty stable. My goal for the meet is 750, so right now im thinking 655, 700-720ish for #2, then 750 for third. My BW right now in the am is 214, so im going to try and start to drop a little baggage now. But im not going to kill myself for this meet. If im not losing steadily, im gonna go 220. But at 198, 750 would be a new APA submaster wr, so that would be cool...meh

Pretty frustrating night. Besides not touching, I was a mess form wise. Left wrist kept bending back and I was losing my arch from picking my dam head up. Old habit I have to break. I always benched index on ring, but now I feel its too wide for me. The last set Tone had me move it to ring and it felt better. Going to have to soak the collar next week and get this thing to touch and start adding weight. Only 5 weeks out.

Remember me and my meet, switching shirts about 6 weeks out. Listen to Tone and Tim they have a lot of knowledge between them and they see a lot and say a lot but take it in and think about each thing. I wa 3 weeks out and my last set that week I got my form but Tone did not let me try it again. I had to think and re think how I got it the whole week then 2 weeks out I did only my opener and was done! I was really scared but I listened to Tim and Tone and on meet day i nailed everything. But it was 3 years in the making and about a year and a half with Tone.
Your raw lifting has to get better and work on that on your second day but light, concentrate on the head and wrist and not speed so much cause you will loose form on that.
There is no doubt you are strong just work on the things you know that you need to do or stop doing.
You will work it out........lift well at the meet and be a better lifter for it!!
You have a great team around you so thats a big advantage!!
I'm sure you'll be fine, I've gone through the same BS. I'm not sure if this will make you feel any better but believe it or not, I've never touched in training. I've come close, maybe to a 1 or 1/2 board, but never touched, lol.

Dont panic about the shirt at this point. Two of our guys are at the GPC euros in 11 days time. One only put on a brand new double rage x five weeks ago and just touched last Monday. You will get there. Just dont get frustrated. You have a great group of guys round you. You will be ready.
Im very close to touching,1 brd area, so im sure thats no problem. Just getting used to shirt again. The wrist thing is minor. Once I find my comfort zone, ill add weight to the bar and see where my attempts will be. Besides squatting, im not overly concerned with the numbers this meet. Just want numbers on the board for the first half of the year. November 5th is the meet i want to hit my goals.

I really wasn't that nervous, lol. I will admit, I was most nervous at the APF Senior Nationals in '09. Only because that was a huge meet for me, and not touching in training will get in your head.

To start, I somehow bruised ribs on my upper left chest above nipple from the collar on the bench shirt Monday. Trying to touch the dam thing I fucking crunched something. So I got that going for me:swear:. I went in not trying to max out on pulls, but try some things instead. 455 felt heavier than it should though. When I got home, I was doing air pulls:strong: and found something else i want to try, so Saturday I may pull again after squatting. I knew accessories would be light from the chest thing, and on the second set of rows It fucking killed, so I stopped and just did some really light shit. Couldnt do anything chest supported. Blah blah blah. Ice and advil the shit out of it and hopefully it will be good to go by Monday. Only 3 weeks of real training left.
Nice pulling B, sorry to hear about your rib. Hopefully it starts to get better and it won't stop you from competing.
I hate things like that bruising, maybe it was the boards? In any case keep icing it and advil, they are some of my best friends, lol.
