10.15.12 ME Bench
When in just looking to get some weight in my hands and maybe touch my opener. Training is winding down to get ready for my first full meet in 2 years on 11/3.
Was supposed to go 725 to 1-Board here but I got a little fired up and decided to go right to it full range.
things are looking good man, looking forward to seeing your results soon.
Not long till the meet bro. Real interested in how the full meet goes! Will be good man, prep has been strong
Strong bench session!
Squat opener of 825 is in the books. Took 865 but my setup was terrible. Felt light so I'm sure it'll go at the meet. Overall a great training cycle. Looking to hit some great numbers on my first full geared meet in 4 years. Sad I let it go this long. 11/3 will start putting Jersey Iron on the map again! Big things coming from the group this year!
Great Job today Tone.
On cruise control till meet day. Did a 3x10@225 last night on the bench.

This was my first Full Gear meet in 4 years. I shouldn't have let it go so long. Learned ALOT today about where my training has taken me and what I need to focus on in the coming year.
This meet moved VERY fast. We had raw lifters in the same flight as geared guys so the flight attempts flew by. I came out ill prepared in my head, didn't setup properly, and upon getting the up command, I fired from my hips but not my head. Starting falling forward, spotters took it. Came back out on the second attempt feeling much calmer and easily hit my 835 opener. Tim called for 880 on the 3rd attempt. When I heard my name announced as the "in the hole" lifter, I had my knees wrapped. Turns out, the guy ahead of me hadn't even had his knees wrapped and I had to stand around with the wraps on for a LONG time. Legs went numb and I tried to compensate by getting under the bar and sitting back into the suit quickly. Instead, I leaned forward and missed the lift.
My bench opener was 775. This felt very light and I had a hard time touching. When I did get it down, I fired it up. The bar had a VERY good amount of whip to it which caused me to double pump. We figured more weight would do the trick so we moved up to 805. 805 second attempt was successful but we did still notice a TON of whippiness to the bar making it a struggle to control it either up or down. The third attempt was 835. Again, the bar was handed out, I started down, and AGAIN the bar whipped pulling me out of the groove. I know it sounds like a ton of excuses here but I'll be posting videos. Please watch the bar whip and tell me what you think. Honestly. Maybe I am just being a bitch.
Deadlift opener was 725. I had alot of trouble getting down in my suit in training so I wore only my briefs on this attempt. Lift was easy, 3 whites. Tim made the call for 750 on my second. I decided to put the suit on for this one and go all out. Pull was fast and easy, but my left hand didn't hold and I dropped it. No lift. At this point I figured I couldn't lose. The 750 felt easy, I could possibly hit a Total PR and a deadlift PR. We called for 775. Good lift, no issues. 2415 Total.
I'd like to thank my entire team for their support, encouragement, and for believing in me even when I don't. I couldn't do it without you guys. I'd also like to thank AtLarge Nutrition and Chris Mason for his sponsorship. The ETS in particular was a godsend this meet. My joints haven't ever felt better including on HUGE doses of Fish Oil. Even now, after the meet when the muscles are aching, my joints still feel absolutely amazing on this stuff.
Great Meet Tone! Ready to see more in the future!
Great job Tone, congrats on the PR's!!! I'm pretty sure that isn't you in the second deadlift video, lol.
Super meet for you T - major props!!
Did you lose 100lbs for that second DL vid, then put it back on for the third?
Also, immense strength, Tone. In very real danger of getting 800lbs+ on each of the three lifts in the future!
Great work, really glad to see ya hit all the pr's. Congrats and bigger things to come.
Awesome meet!! Well done, great to see you hit a 3 lift meet like that. Plenty of PR's!! Awesome!! Appreciate the vids too, always good to be able to see the footage of the lifts!!
Very good job! 2415 is big.
Thanks guys. Not my best performance and I left alot on the platform but I'll take it for my first meet back in 4 years. Much more to come and I learned alot about what I need to do to prep better next time.
10.12.12 ME Bench
Time to get back on the horse. Don't have a plan just yet but I'm about 14 weeks out from my next comp. I'll need to keep the shirt off for a few weeks because it gashed the hell out of my tricep at the meet. There's a deep cut on my right tri that I"ll need to get healed up.
Rack Lockouts (I found a weakness here. I rely alot on technique to lockout. I do a twist with the elbows. Trying to do a straight up lockout KILLED ME. I've benched 520 raw and I was outdone tonight by a guy who benches 385. Disgusting.)
Impressive benching Tone!!! Is your next meet geared or raw?
Getting back into the swing.

Went in with a pretty good headache to try and get it done. Figured out after it was because I was dehydrated. Somehow all I'd had to drink all day was 3 cups of coffee. Terrible on my part.
Called it here. Went home and was in bed by 7pm after drinking a few huge cups of water. Slept through the night and felt 100% better this morning. I need to remember to drink water, not just fucking coffee.
I guess my diet of 60 oz of coffee a day is no good then?
Bench is strong. Good to see you back at it!
