Awesome sounding meet!!
That sounded like an awesome meet. Congratulations on the deadlift PR! It definitely sounded like you had 600# that day. Now that I think about it, a 600# is freaking unreal to me. I'll be lucky to hit 400# that at some point in my lifting career.
Great write up/performance on the meet Mark. You overcame a lot and got the job done!
Super at the meet Mark, more where that came from - congrats!!
This week has been slow, diet off, recovery mostly I suppose. Tonight things get back on track. Midnight diet starts up, cardio tonight and tomorrow, HIIT for keto spike with lifting. I'm contemplating doing my workouts at work in the gym there, I can get a lot more accessory work done, plus using the Hammer Strength shrug machine I get an amazing workout instead of just BB shrugs for some reason. Likely I'll alternate back and forth between home and work, I can't deadlift with hexagon plates.
Hexagon plates fucking suck!
Ha! Those damn plates.........who made them?
Looking good Mark!!
Hexagon plates... Yuk!!!
Did some pressing today, and hit a rep PR.
225 x 10 I believe my actual rep PR was 8, so +2 for 225 isn't too shabby.
225 x 8, 30 second rest, 2 more reps
Just the highlights today. Everything felt great, had a new found drive for lifting today, it's awesome. Looking forward to getting the ball rolling again and getting back on track for December. Finding it a bit hard to nail down the diet, we'll get there though, got to. 310-320 by December is totally do-able for me, and there shouldn't be any excuses at all about getting there, just results.
My first tip: When you don't feel like lifting, go after it any way. Even if it's just light accessory work instead of heavy lifting. Doing SOMETHING, is better than doing nothing, so long as doing something doesn't become the norm. You still gotta bust balls in the gym, but you've also go to understand there will be days when you feel like complete crap.
Final update on what I'm going to be doing before I actually do it, muahaha. So here's the deal, I want to buy some stuff, and I need money to buy stuff, so here's my plan. I get off work at 0200, my wife gets off at 0600. There are usually overtime slots from 0400-0600 that I could work and make some extra moolah to buy items I desire/pay off some debt, remember A/C we just replaced, etc? So, I get off at 0200, can workout from 0200-0400, will have time to shower, get dressed and go back to work for 2 hours. I'm looking forward to working out up here mostly becuase of all the accessory work I'll be able to do, and it won't get stale and boring. I plan on adding 2-3 more accessory lifts in to each day of lifting, plus being here with treadmills/bikes/espn on 3 different flat screen TV's may help motivate me to do...gasp...card...i...o...gag. Plus I may get to show some of these soft asses up here what a real manly workout looks like, ha, not that they'd pull themselves away from the TV or cell phones long enough to notice. I think this plan is really going to work, I'm so excited about this it's hard for me to sleep at night, thinking about the progress. Can't, Freaking, Wait!
If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.
Great PR and nice quote!!
It sounds great but you lost me with "Cardio." :)
Sounds like a plan Mark, good job on the pressing PR as well.
Tonight starts the repapalooza fest it seems. I asked Josh about getting some higher rep work in and boom, I got some good stuff planned. Tonight will be the first night working higher rep accessory work, and a lot of it, can't wait.
Nice pressing PR, that idea is ace Mark!! Expecting some big thing from the remainder of this year!!!
Thanks a ton HJP.
Dead, I felt like I literally had to drag myself out of the gym this morning, wobbling as I went. It hurts to think about walking, I like it!

Weight is in the 340's, will be really focusing in on the diet these next few days to get back on track and back in line with what I'm supposed to be doing. I'll likely drop 10lbs decently quick to get back in to the 330's. Today and tomorrow I'm doing liquid proteins, and depending on how I feel I may do it Monday as well. Will also switch to a one day, dirty carb up instead of 2 days for the rest of the year to assess how well that works. I've only done it once in the past and got about the same results weight wise as a 2 day carb up, seems like I gain about 8-10lbs on carbups then stop gaining, and drop that within a week of keto. Learning the body is something I'm really going to focus on more this go round, really paying attention to what works, what doesn't, what makes me feel good, what makes me feel like crap. So far I've responded well to keto, and carbs make me feel like crap, always have. I get all swollen and lazy. I really think I'm one of those types of people who run better on lower carb diets.
Looks impressive and quite intense dude.
