Done...Today I had to combine the days. I wasn't able to pull yesterday because my kids had orientation for school and it took way longer then usual. Decided to pull with chains which is always fun. The OHP with a cambered bar is pretty hard because its always swinging at the top. The deload is over and the next six weeks of training is going to be brutal.
Last night I decided to check the rankings on PLW since they separated the wraps and sleeves raw division. Right now I am currently in 3rd place @ 242 in the raw division (no kneewraps) which is pretty awesome. This gave me a lot of motivation to watch my weight better and continue to prove myself at 242.
Great news on your ranking, Bri, well deserved.
Nice pulling session!
I knew you were way up there in the rankings, but no idea you were at the tippy top! Very nice work Hopper!
You earned it Brian - hard work, determination, blood, sweat, and tears. Your work ethic is second to none. I expect you'll be making a few steps up the podium in the future.
Great job on the #3 rank. Im seeing an even higher rank soon out of you :)
Squat vs strong bands
Worked up to 355+bands for 8 triples
3 sets each for 20 reps
7 weeks out from APF Southern States
Worked up to 330 for 3 sets of 5
Worked up to 300 for 8 singles w/30 seconds rest
Close grip pulldowns
Deadlifts & Back
4" block pulls w/snatch grip
Done...Very pleased with this session. But I need to lower my volume, lol. Especially since I'm getting so close to my meet. I want to keep the snatch grip work because I feel it'll help with my upper back. I'll some how get it figured out.
Always have trouble reducing the snatch grip.
Wow man 3rd place is awesome, congrats.
Do you follow any kind of peaking schedule when prepping for meets?
I do, but it's never the same. I like to experiment, lol. I'll continue to do so until I find something I really like. I've been working with Tone Barbaccio for awhile now. He created a Jersey Iron template that's sort of like the cube method but with his twist on it. For this meet he gave a copy of his second version for my squat and bench. For my deadlift I'm doing a modified version of 5/3/1 and I'm hoping it works. My problem is, I never stick to something. I always want to try new things and learn from mistakes.
Yeah I'm kind of the same way. Every meet my training evolves a little bit and I try something slightly different. I also never completely stick to a 'plan'.
