Thanks Chub- I still prefer the shake without the olive oil, but sometimes I throw it in.
Big- That sounds about right. I wear an open back DD, so I have it pulled pretty low. I get the marks on the arm, but my armpit is fine. Welcome to the uncomfortable world of shirt benching. :)
really nice benching chris
Nice pressing. Those asylum boards look like a blast. Do you think you need more weight to touch in the shirt or just more practice?

Hey Chris, I'm gonna be making the switch from poly to denim soon. Any tips or advice?
Strong pressing man. I found closed back poly's to work better for me then open backs as a smaller guy.
Sweet pressing man. Any info on those directions yet bro?
Tommy- Just be patient and get some work in it. You may take to it very well, or it might be ridiculously awkward. Just make sure you don't give up on it until you really give it an honest shot. Other than that, it would be hard to give advice without seeing you in it or your current technique.
Kevin- I don't think I could ever get back in a closed-back. It's just so much easier to throw a DD on and adjust it. Who knows though.
Unholy- not yet. I'll try and get them to you tomorrow.
Whole lotta box squatta
Box squats(RAW/competition wide stance)
17"(above parallel/all done with Green bands choked)
1@375x3(tight belt...close to 500 at lockout)
15"(Just above parallel/no bands)
13"(below parallel/no bands/no belt)
I was going to do a high box squat today and then put briefs on and do some free squats, but plans changed. My sciatica(sp?) is tweaked to hell. It hurt a lot today and it was probably not the best idea to keep going, but whatever. It didn't kill me. All the high box sets felt pretty good. My best off that box is 505x3 in briefs/belt. So the 375+bands was pretty good for no briefs. The 15" box was good too, but our spotters left after the lighter sets, so when it was time to go heavier we rigged up some safety chains. It took a long time to get them setup and I should have taken a lighter weight again, but I just put the belt on and tried 375. It felt light on my back, but I loosened up too much when I hit the box and I couldn't squeeze it back up.
If I feel ok, I'll do a bunch of assistance on Thursday and then just help out at the meet on Saturday.
Thanks bro. I figure I should do alright. Nice box squatting.

Just went real light tonight with high reps. My right pec/delt/everything is still wacked so I tried to do stuff that didn't bother it. Raw flat bench bothers it more than decline, so I'll stick with declines for my full range stuff. The shoulder presses felt fine though, so I can do those.
Saturday I'll be helping out at the meet, so I'll "rest" it then.
I skipped training today in order to help spot/load/judge at a meet we ran today. It was a APF and also non-sanctioned meet. So we had both elite lifters lifting as well as some people who were new to the sport. It was a great day, but waaaay too long. I am completely shot, I'm just glad I didn't lift. I also met Unholy today and he should be coming out to train with us soon. I think he was bit pretty hard by the powerlifting bug(meets tend to do that).
Monday I'll be back to benching.
Very inspirational so see a wee man do such big things. Keep it up, Hoss.

1@350x1(touched/PR since I have stopped my big arch)
Today went pretty well. I actually felt a bit weak on declines. Perhaps too many weeks going heavy in a row. But the shirt work felt good. The best it has felt since going to a flat-foot setup. I managed to do a full rep with 350...which is only 10 lbs off my best meet PR@165 with a full arch. I figured the range of motion has to be at least 2-3" longer this way, so I was very happy. Plus my shirt was dead like two years ago and I just keep using it(holes and all). I have definetely lost top end strength. I was very explosive on all my shirt sets, but my top end lags. I shot the 350 off the chest, but the lockout was slow. I used to be able to do lockouts with ~405-425 for a few reps and now I am missing 385. The next few weeks I will focus on top end on Mondays...heavy band work. Then I will probably do a complete deload week, either taking off or just going in and working light. Then I will get back in the shirt and see how it feels.
Tomorrow I will squat.
huge pressing Chris... awesome to hit that PR after the heavy declines. I'm going to add in declines once I get back, also. That sure is a lot of tricep work. I like it.
Thanks Big. Bench strength is slowly coming back.
Then I took a break and helped bring the monolift downstairs. The guys put it together in like 15 minutes or so and then I started back in the monolift.
Now I had to pee real bad since I had the briefs on for a while. I knew if I took them off it was gonna be rough to get them back on, so I had my buddy Frank cut the seams of the briefs that had been pinched. Now they were much easier to get on and off....but still seemed to give me just as much pop. So, back to squatting.
1@505x1(straps up...felt weird)
(Straps down w/belt from here on out)
1@545x1(felt much better)
1@595x1(wrapped my own knees..felt easy)
1@605x3(All-time triple PR..sick Knee wrap from Chase)
That triple was done at 11:00 PM. I started squatting at 7:00...yea that's right. The last meal I ate was at 3:00 PM...all I had after that was some No-Xplode and some gatorade. Dumb? Yes...but somehow I managed to hit a big PR. If I ever smarten up and get the nutrition thing down, I should actually be pretty strong. I was dead now, but wanted to do some more.
SSB squats(RAWDOG/Narrow/ATF/No belt)
At this point I figured I had no chance at doing a workset. I was sooo shot....my blood sugar was probably in the negative, but I saw big John Bernor hit a 1005 squat with straps down and no wraps after mis-grooving it and missing it afew minutes earlier. I knew I had to do at least one set.
I was able to pause the last rep and still come up pretty easy...I just felt like crap. I'll probably do those every other week for some quad work and just work them up slowly and keep the reps high.
dammn 600+ for three I was telling my brother about you the other day he was amazed
and I love how you spent over 3 hours at the gym I wish I had that kinda time(and my gym was open past 10)
Thanks. Sometimes I move some decent weights for a skinny little guy. :dj: And sometimes the fact that the gym is open 24 hours is a bad thing. My training partners and I sometimes just take forever to get things going. Too much talking and argueing about training. Then we are usually helping someone new with their technique or someone new to gear, etc.

15 minutes to put together a monolift... wow! You guys must have it down to an art. Gratz to J. Bernor on the 1000+ squat.
Woot for the RAWDOG's! lol.
Sweet session last night man. Once again I slept like a small child that was hit in the head with a baseball bat. Those three and a half hour sessions really fly by quickly though.
That squat is REDONKULOUS! I see you tripled the last set but everything before were singles. Did you plan to triple it beforehand and the rest were just weight acclamation or did you just decide to just go for it midset?
Monster squat Chris. I like your style.
What's your opinion on the whole thing going down with WSB and the APF?
