thanks for the words, men. yeah K the real world is awesome, except for the money management part. for 2 years im going to just a CC to get my liberal arts/gen eds. then for 2 years after that im going to a university for 2 years to get my major in criminology.. thanks for the advice coke.
sick workout today (literally)
bench : warmup, 185x5, 205x5, 215x6... weak as sh**.......
squats : warmup, 155x20... holy crap. i puked after this. i havent done anything remotely close to cardio since a LONG time, and this got me totally exhausted. sat down for 5 minutes staring at the ground and then called it a day, i was annhialated. pathetic!
155x20 is awesome man. I know thats not where you were at but thats far better than what I can do dude...looking good.
Those squats alone were very intense, props...keeping on track no matter what in here.
thanks for the props fellas. im afraid i havent been able to keep lifting consistently. i got a job, working tuesday thru friday, 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM. getting 14.60 an hour. its tougher than crap, distribution warehouse work. loading semis all night, etc. but if i eat right, and keep my diet in check, this job will actually probably get me in the best shape of my life. but either way, i will probably be losing weight but hopefully not much muscle. ill try to lift at least once a week, but this is very taxing on me.
got a workout in yesterday. pretty sad but it works.
bench : 135 warmup, 185x10, x8, x2... i failed on rep 3 big time. total shutdown, hasnt happened like that in a while.
kettlebells : front raises 45kg 2x10, side raises 20kg 2x15. did these with swing and hips and everything like u shud with kettlebells, felt great on the shoulders.
seated side laterals : 20 3x10
glute ham crunches 3x10, reverse crunches 3x10
really guys i apologize for not being in your journals anymore. time is like a crown jewel to me now, rare, and when i have it, i utilize it. i will do what i can. im still observing your workouts whne i get the chance, but its hard to keep up with posting. keep working hard all of you and i appreciate your support!
Glad to see you get that effort in...if you can workout at least twice a week, preferably 3, you're good to go.
thanks coke and sound advice, i will strive for that 3.
unholy - i know..
got another one in yesterday. was a tough one, felt good.
pullups : BW x12, x8, x5
back extensions : BW 3x10
DB rows : 65 3x10
weighted calves : 225 4x15
glute ham crunches : BW 4x10
At least your getting it done... Even if you are lifting as much as my little sister:hello:
Jedster! You're farm is pretty whack. Hahaha, nice liftin buddy.

DB flyes : 30 3x10, alternate with reverse crunches 3x10
pushups fatigue : x15, x12, x9, alternate with GHR situps 3x10
jumped rope for a few minutes, about died.
Woah averaging one workout every two weeks. Keep it up champ ;)
ill kick you in your fat-lacking shins, wal.
Can't go wrong as long as you keep your head in the game and amp up the frequency of sessions man.
did some circuit work yesterday. i dont time or anything but it sure sucked.
15 GHR situps
bb rows 95 x fatigue
pushups x fatigue
rest for about 3-4 min. did 3 sets. lol it killed me.
Over a week!! Stop slacking foo.
JEd your slacking bro! Whats going on?
Got to be stepping to it Jed or you will be hearing it from us, make no mistake, lol - :D
i know guys. im failing myself and you all. ive been working on and off with my job the past 2 weeks training and stuff, and i start full time tuesday. 4 days in a row of 10 hours of loading semis and warehouse shelves. it will be tough and pretty physically grueling on me for at least 3 weeks. but i will get strong and in shape again from that, no doubt. its from 4pm - 2 am or 1600-0200, tues thru fri. i will eat a healthy breakfast, and a healthy dinner at night. ill try to get a lunch in before work and a mid shift dinner too, so eating shouldnt be a problem. besides, im fat now anyways. i shouldnt even be eating. i will pry be able to lift on mondays, or tuesday/thursday before work if i can handle it. or else it will probably be just running/circuit training for me for a while while i carry out this job. i have to pay for college and the rest of my life, as much as i love lifting weights. i am by no means quitting lifting, but it will be looking weird for me for a while. i will do what my body can allow, but i know when to stop.
Jed, I wanna see you get back in here, bro. You got tons of potential and a great attitude about it all. Here's the way I see it for you:
Your job sounds pretty taxing and demanding. Treat that as your GPP or "cardio" if you will. You talk about being fat and needing to run or do circuit work. I don't think so. You're just fillin out your frame and getting older. Physical labor all day is gonna burn enough calories to keep you lean and trim like you want. Just watch your diet. I think you should have no problem getting 3-4 strength training sessions in per week. Make them low volume, heavy weight and stick to the basics. I'd go with something that can get you in and out of there in under an hour. Get a good meal in an hour or two before your workout, lots of water and energy shouldn't be a problem. Deload often and you'll be right back to where you wanna be bro. Trust me. Do it!
Thanks for the great words, K. I need help figuring out what I should do then. Can I follow the old 5-3-1 if I do that or should I go with something more simple and straight forward? Just like bench, 2 assists and core work for day 1, squat, 2 assist and core for day 2, etc? This provided me some pretty good motivation to get my ass back in there. I'm past week two of the job and i'm really not all that physically dead since I am strong and used to lifting, but I am mentally drained on account of only getting 4-6 hours of sleep a day. Sometimes I can't get to bed until 0400 AM and have to wake up at 0800 AM. Due to class and the gym I go to only being open on weekdays, I may only be able to get in there three times a week, four if i'm lucky. Keep the motiviation coming, Keph!
super workout today... first great one ive had in months! thanks to K ive got some new motivation to get my lard ass back in there and do something. im goin on the 531 again starting from rock bottom. squat 250, bench 235, dead 315 and MP 150 (iirc)
(250) squats : warmup, 135x5, 165x5, 175x5, 190x8... that was to fatigue. felt great even tho weight was tiny! did them pretty deep.
chins : BW x11, x11, x8 felt good
HB raises : 20 lb 3x12
reverse crunches : 3x12
glute ham sit ups : 3x10 hard, flexor was cramping up in mid rep.
felt great to get in there and hit it again. my schedule should look like : mon, tues, thurs. squat, bench, dead/mp. thanks for the support and motivation along the way everyone, it has helped. i'll be doing what i can as much as i can now.
Awesome dude thats what I like to hear. Gettin strong as **** again! Kill it bro
Nice to see ya back at it bud....glad to hear you stuck with the 531...hit it intense and you'll be able to pull off workouts for a long time on your ****ed up schedule...just dont let yourself make any excuses.
Thanks for the support, men. It means alot youre still here backing me after my long absence! I'm getting my life all situated right now... after I manage to incorporate 3 days of lifting in with work and school, I should really be set and back at it.
I think it was Rippitoe that said something like.....''If you have a warehouse job and cant lift because of it youre a pussy'' (very loosely quoted but similar) ha ha!
Awesome that you are back at homeboy! You were a hair away from that 315 bench....Time to get back there!!
