So i guess i'm going to start this westside workout tomorrow.. it goes
Mon - ME Bench
press movement - floor press
Front lat pull down
Side lateral/front lat
What can i replace the floor press with.. and what if i dont know my MAX bench.. can i estimate it.. i think i have a pretty good guess. I just really wanted to start this monday (3rd time ever in the gym by the way) but if i have to find all my maxes that means my entire weeks scchedule is messed, please help!
Just go with a guessed max, untill you find your max.
You guess you're going to start Westside?
Just a few questions,
How old are you?
How many years lifting experience do you have?
Why do you want to do a westside style routine?
get bigger/stronger.. i'm skinny as hell. You got aim?
Take a look at the 5x5 Routine. Build up your base level strength and get some years under your belt (no pun intended) before following something made popular by Westside Barbell.
:offtopic: I'm lovin all the belt jokes now, rofl
maybe i'll do WBB routine 1 but split it up so i lift monday tuesday.... thursday friday....hows that sound?
If you're really set on doing a WS style routine you could always give Joe DeFranco's Westside For Skinny Bastards a try. It's a little more beginner friendly than your standard WS Barbell Club routine.
Here's an article by Louie Simmions, founder of Westside Barbell and their meothd, about using it for beginners. http://www.elitefts.com/documents/ad..._beginners.htm
Westside is good for beginners interested in gaining a lot of strength, but you have to do a lot of reading to do it properly. I tried it last year, didn't do it right and burnt out very quickly.
