    True, but HSL requires very little insulin...even fasting levels are sufficient to inactivate HSL. Protein also increases insulin anyway.

    As long as you are at a deficit, you're fine.

    If you are below maintenance, it doesn't matter if you eat carbs before bed. They will be used because you ARE below maintenance. Used for your body's basic metabolic functioning.
