Baby DavyRen almost here!

Been lurking each day but it's been a while since I posted, should have done so 8 months ago but on Monday my wife is to be induced with our first child (unless something happens before then). I suppose we were real lucky as I literally only shot from the hip 5 times and she had a belly full of white mice!

The last 10 weeks or so have been a bit of a pain as she has had to inject insulin due to her being diabetic during pregnancy, hopefully this will clear after the birth.

I can't wait to finally see the very active bambino in the flesh, we got one of those 4d scans which was a great experience but i'm like a kid on christmas day again waiting for next weeks arrival.

Obviously i'll be stacking the baby milk with Maximus and Creatine and he/she will be in the gym from 3 months!!!

I'll post a pic and keep you updated as and when.

Quick update cos i'm on my way to hospital soon.

My wife was induced on Monday with a tablet followed by another later that day but she never went into labour although she was in some discomfort.

Tuesday was a waste of a day due to the labour ward being that busy they were unable to break her waters. Tuesday eveing given the 3rd tablet and has now begun labour contraction.

I'm off to hospital 10am as they are breaking her waters today so we should see something today.

It's been a difficult few days but it'll be worth it in the end.

I'm back....deary me that was really not a pleasant experience at all, I know everyone probably says they will never have another one at this time but it's horrible seeing someone you love in such pain.

It was far from a normal delivery due to her having to be induced due to gestational diabetes. They broke the waters at 10 am, after hours and hours and then finally the doctor came in to apply the suction and then the forcips she gave birth to our son Joe at 00.52am on Thursday 13th September weighing in at 8lbs 2oz.

Both are doing fine although both a little sore as you can imagine.

I'm gonna try to not be a pushy parent but we'll see, hopefully he'll have my competitive streak in him.

Congratulations, what a handsome guy. Did you ever imagine you could love someone immediately and unconditionally? Fatherhood is the coolest.

Quick question, I see you are in the UK, do they allow you the option of an epideral for the mom so if they don't want to really feel the pain they can. My wife is very small and natural birth is almost impossible for her (she was torn up bad the first time around), so she got an epideral the 2nd time and said it was the greatest decision ever.

Yeah you can have an epidural at any point which numbs the lower body but they reckon if you can cope with the pain it's easier to push as you can feel the contractions.

My wife never had one in labour but needed a one when she went into theatre afterwards.

If we decide to have another one at some point it may be better for her to have a cesarean due to the damage sustained. I asked the midwife the other day and she said we were certainly within our right to ask and would probably have this ok'd by the docs but it's not the easiest way out either as the recovery obviously takes many weeks.
