At what arm size is it evident that you weight lift?

At what size do your biceps look big naturally (you know, that nice 'ol lump) WITHOUT you having to flex... e.g., if I'm walking down the street and want some chick to think "damn that guy has big biceps"....

Yes, this really has no point to it.

there really isn't a certain point, it depends on body size and height, not so much the necessary number.

I'd guess eating, lifting, being consistent, and being patient.

At any rate, I don't know the answer to the OP. My arms are around 15" and I don't think I look like I work out, though others tell me I look good (compared to what I used to look like).

This is a pretty dumb thread..

Totally depends on the individual. Some could be leaner, some could be shorter, some could have a thicker bone structure, hell, some could be more vascular, which could all change the opinion of those measurements you listed.
    EDIT:

If you want an opinion of whether or not it's evident that YOU weight lift, throw a pic up and make the poll 'yes' or 'no'.

probably depends on more than just arms...plus %bodyfat plays a big role in that too...if you got big traps/lats/tris/quads and relatively low bodyfat you will look like you lift weights...

side note - girls look at your face more than your biceps...and i suppose that only works if you're wearing a tank top

Reach down between your legs and find a pair of balls. That's what it takes to lift big weights. Genetics is the weak man's excuse for why he sucks at life. Don't be that guy - RhodeHouse

matters on like how big you look in general, i more notice if someone lifts by how wide they are first, how they hold their weight, THEN arm size.

i just started really getting into lifting again, and am told i look wider and that i hold my weight better.

depends how big you are to begin with. there are plenty of guys with much bigger arms naturally than I have after working out for some time. arms are not a good indicator that you work out at all IMO. look at someone's back if you want the real story.

Lean 15 inch arms look better than flabby 18 inch arms. A good combination of being lean and having size is the key to looking like you work out, rather than pure size.

I look at people's traps mainly... I think people in general neglect working their traps, or not as hard as other muscle groups (biceps, chest etc) so I think traps are what seperate "hardcore" lifters and average gym rats.

My arms are only 14.25", but I have a wrestler's neck and my traps stick out when I'm wearing a shirt. I don't have a problem when it comes to intimidating people.. I do it just fine

Looking at people's glutes is also a good way to tell if they're suffering from light-bulb effect or not. I look at people's knees (areas where the teardrops pop out) also when they're sitting down in shorts.

I wish my arms would stay as big as they are when they're pumped, then I'd be happy with that aspect. I wish there was a way to figure out how long it would take for them to be that big when cold.

That would be something, my arms get pumped almost +2 inches bigger when I'm lifting.

If there was a way to walk around with your whole body pumped for 24/7..

Yep, mine are about 1-1.5" bigger with a pump. That would rule.

I look at calves, quads and back.

Everything else IMO are beach muscles. Ya, they are important, but they are the fun lifts that you see guys doing everyday, while the power rack gains dust.

Funniest thing said so far in this thread, beside the thread itself. Especially considering your height and weight.

Back, legs and the "yoke" are definitely a better indicatior of someone who lifts weights seriously. Anyone with big arms and nothing else I consider a skinny, weak, non-functional poser.

Depends on you bone structure, weight, and bodyfat. 15 inch guns can look huge on guys with small frames and low bodyfat. Genetics will play a very important role in determining many of these factors. If you are putting up big numbers your arms size will probably show evidents of you lifting weight unless you're one of those bad genetic powerlifters.
