    Surgery was fun.

Got my tonsils out this morning. Everything went well, first time I've ever had surgery was a little nervous but the doctor was great. Whatever they knock you out with is sneaky as hell. The last thing I remember is talking to the doctor about college and grad school and then I woke up with an oxygen mask on my face. Waking up was a little rough, I couldn't stop shivering and my throat hurt like crazy; it didn't help that my mouth was completely dry. Went through about 4 cups of ice before I moved onto a popsicle and some cranberry juice. No one would give me a steak even though I asked nicely. Home now, they gave me tylenol laced with codeine but I don't know how much I will take of it, it makes it hard to pee. Went to go to the bathroom and started to pee and was kinda like uh.. nothing's happening here. Pain isn't too bad at the moment as long as I keep swallowing to a minimum. It was definitely easy though, the worst part is going to be not being able to eat for the next week or so. Probably going to lose more weight which I don't want but hopefully it fixed all the problems I was having with getting sick and so I'll be able to start bulking and lifting again in about 3 weeks or so.

    Anyways, just felt like sharing.

lol. I've been so high that I couldn't piss on several occasions. That's awesome.
Did they let you keep the tonsils?

Under the bludgeonings of chance my head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears looms but the horror of the shade And yet the menace of the years finds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate how charged with punishments the scroll,I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.

No they didn't. And no it's not so awesome because one of the warnings on the medications is to call immediately if urine volume decreases. So far it's been a pretty normal volume but I really have to struggle to force it, and it's not fun at all.

Down cold shakes with whole milk, PB, chocolate syrup, vanilla ice cream, and some powder. Hell, you might even gain some weight.

When I used to be a stoner, it actually burned when I tried to pee lol. Worst feeling. I thought I was gonna have to call a doctor. Just be glad it's tonsils and not 4 impacted wisdom teeth my friend. But that's another topic. Glad your surgery went well though.

Wisdom teeth are next.. 2 impacted, 2 haven't even erupted yet.

The only thing that's bothering me from the surgery (besides the sore throat) is part of my tongue is numb and has kind of a crease in it, most likely from where the thing used to hold open my mouth was placed. He said that it pressed on the tongue to keep it down while he operated but I'm hoping that it won't be numb for the rest of my life.. it's kind of annoying. Forgot to ask him about it last night so I'll have to call back today.

The sensation in the tongue will come back. (I had my tonsils out a few years back in my early 30's.) My tongue was numb at first and then it hurt quite a bit for a few days and I ended up with a huge 'bruise' as a result of the clamp.

I didn't use any painkillers for the throat pain as I didn't want it screwing up my digestive system. (In addition to urination issues, the meds can really mess with your bowels big time).

I was ready to go back to work in less than a week (even though they said it could be two weeks or more) but they may advise you to hold off on working out for a while. Use the time to bulk!

    Good luck.

I could definitely use some suggestions for food though. I'm tired of pudding, jello, and popsicles. I considered peanut butter by the spoonful, but thought it might be a bit too thick and sticky to be comfortable. Any suggestions you guys might have would help. Preferably stuff that's either cold or room temp for now, hot foods are a couple of days away I think.
