    Hello, lower back problems.

New member here, nice to meet you .

I started working out last year for about 6 months, but quit for personal reasons. Towards the last couple months before i quit, I started to get stretch marks on my lower back....and i started working out 3 weeks ago again and their coming back again.

I work out every other day... (3.5 times a week) from 1-2 hours each visit. And I belive I have a weak lower back because when I do some ab machines, I only feel it in my back. Also I used to play a video games a lot and probably wasn't sitting with greatest posture.

I dont know if all these details are necessary but maybe someone here has an idea on how to prevent these stretchmarks?

    thankyou.

Stretch marks arise from the essential nature of rapid muscular growth. Embrace them.

They say cocoa butter and other lotions help but that hasn't been proven. Some disappear or fade over time so all you can do is wait.

    Its that simple then?
I see, I thought I was working out wrong or not getting enough of a certain nutrient.

Yep, it usually is triggered from rapid weight gains. Some people are more prone than others. Nothing really helped mine but time (my largest goes from my upper bicep to an inch on my chest). They start out as red and mine took about 1 year to get to normal skin color.

Also I should note that ones that hard started continued to get larger when I was dieting. I think when I was doing DB bench and would really stretch my chest to set the weights down it continued to slowly create tension.

Well, I guess I should think of them as proof of getting a workout rather than a scar.

    thanks for your input
